The greatest things Mexicans and Mexico overall has taught me was the appreciation and love for one’s family. Through hard times they stick with one another and have love for their family no matter what.

Your knowledge of Iowa is obviously extremely limited. I grew up there. Too much emphasis on cities and not enough details on those cities. You mixed up Cedar Rapids and Cedar Falls. Really nothing special about Cedar Rapids. Same sort of environment as other similar sized cities. Cedar Falls is the home of the University of Northern Iowa and is adjacent to Waterloo with no recognizable boundary between them. It’s referred to as the CedarLoo area. You can tour the John Deere tractor factory in Waterloo which is a modern technologically advanced facility that’s a huge economic driver or attend concerts, musical event, sporting events, etc at the University. You left off the Loess Hills scenic drive which runs along the western edge of the state from the southwest corner of the state to Sioux City. In that same area you can visit the Lewis and Clark State Park name after the explorers who passed that way in 1804. In Dubuque, yes the oldest and historically important city in Iowa you can ride the world’s steepest, shortest inclined railway or Funicular called the Fenelon Place Elevator. At the top you have a great overlook of the city and the Mississippi River. You can take river boat dinner cruises, part of a day or overnight two days. If you like gambling there are river boat casinos too. Although Des Moines has a lot of generic large city entertainment the two or three largest events are the Iowa State Fair which is one of the largest in the nation with annual attendance running over one million. While not nearly as large in attendance and not probably thought of as a tourist destination, if you like basketball the annual Iowa State Basketball Tournament, both boys and girls, is a sports spectacular with thousands of fans cheering on their home town teams. Speaking of fairs, the Clay County Fair at Spencer in northwest Iowa is larger than many U.S state fairs with average attendance over 310,000 and top notch entertainment of all sorts. If you’re not one who can only drive on interstate highways and never stop to really see anything, you can drive all the way across Iowa on US. 30, the Lincoln highway which runs from New York City to Los Angeles. Construction was started in 1915 and completed in 1925, two years before construction started on U.S. Route 66. It was a major economic development driver (no pun intended) across the United States as automobile travel for pleasure and business grew. Although Interstate 80 has replaced it for high speed travel, 80% of the original route is still drivable. The speed limit is usually 65 mph and quite a bit is divided highway but still plenty of things to see. One of the top attractions along the Lincoln Highway is the Boone & Scenic Valley Railroad at Boone, where you can ride regular daily excursions pulled by a steam locomotive or special lunch and dinner trains out of the hills and across the high trestle across the Des Moines River. You didn’t mention that Sioux City has some great city parks, golf courses and river boat casinos. Incidentally it’s pronounced SOO CITY. I went to college there fifty years ago when it was dominated by the stock yards and packing industry. Those days are gone and the city has grown but it doesn’t have an extremely large city feel.

Many of these traditions exist only in some regions, or even only in few cities, and are unknown elsewhere in the country. The Befana was atradition of some area only, in particular in central Italy, and it became a national tradition only durino the fascist era. The Notte Bianca is an import from other European cities and did not exist until the 1990s. Calcio Fiorentino has a dubious historicity, and perhaps still exist only fou tourists. While many local festival of great traditions are totally missing from the list, (such as Palio di Siena, the medievals Giostre in central Italy, or the Baroque catholic processions in south). Also was missing the tradition of Ferragosto, which means that in the middle of the month of august most activities close up for one or two week, where the beaches fill up and the cities become empty.
