I've heard this piece by many pianists, but I prefer by far this interpretation. So in control. So beautiful.

Josu DeSolaun has wonderful interpretive skills here, resulting in a well-thought-out performance of the first caliber! This is my model and go-to recording of this very difficult work by Manuel DeFalla. I listen to it quite often, in the hope of one day being able to perform it. Bravissimo Josu DeSolaun!

This is great and I've learned so much just by listening to Nick Van Bloss play.

Just my opinion, but if you need a masterclass to play Rachmaninoff's Elegie you are not ready to play it. It is pure Rachmaninoff and the interpretation should flow out of your hands automatically. Else Rachmaninoff has not chosen you. (That's what happened when I recorded it).

Every few months I come back to this video to remind me what a phenomenal musician and inspiring teacher Ms Chochieva is. Exquisite playing, so much more than 'just' technique (which, lets face it, is phenomenal!).

I'm absolutely obsessed with this performance ✨🥹. It's 2024 and despite this being posted 14 years ago, its beauty is still very much appreciated up until now and undoubtly in the years to come. Considering myself extremely lucky to be able to come across this, thank you very much for such a heartwarming and gorgeous performance! ✨🩵🩷

I much prefer no.1+2 to the 3rd. They seem more like Liszt to me. His less known works often seems better to me, but it's all subjective I guess. Listen to Benediction de dieu dans la Solitude, my favourite Liszt piece ❤

Misha, you really feel and understand Liszt. I so hope you read this. My 97 year old mother studied piano (as a young girl) with one of Liszt last students. She expressed Liszt as you do. Marvelous, wonderful.

@@mishadacic3001 I'm so very happy to hear from you. My mother's teacher was Josè vienna da Motta. My mother chose the life of wife and mother, my father was a very great doctor. What her teacher spoke of Liszt is (for the most part) what we have learned, however a repeated theme was boundless expression and clarity through a technique that was transcended- never physical always spiritual.

what a great video. I happen to come from the Tchaikovsky lineage (through Nikolaevand Tanyev). Rachmaninoff also took advice from Tchaikovsky. Have a look at my 100 (almost) compositions. They may not quite be as good as Rachmaninoff's, in fact, they are utter rubbish. I could watch this extraordinary woman play number 3 for hours. such lightness of touch. she clearly loves it. so do i.

Une des meilleures interprétations de ces fabuleuses études de Scriabine . C'est une perte immense que cette fabuleuse interprète soit décédée si tôt dans des circonstances tragiques
