I purchased the kit and it finally arrived in Australia. I love the fabrics and am so excited to cut and sew the table runner. However, I am disappointed that the pattern does not have the table topper pattern and only the runner. Its a shame as I spent as much on the postage as I did on the kit and the pattern provided is incomplete. 😥😥😥I suppose if I want the table topper I will have to spend another AUD 20.00
@ankastreasures92872 ай бұрын
@@rashmivij4390 I’m sorry you are disappointed, but there is no table topper pattern available. One of the Rose Garden patterns includes the two runner options and the other pattern includes the large twin/double size quilt. Both boxed kits included the pattern and were priced so the pattern was basically free (if you were to price buying each item separately).

I loved the sew-a-long …. Yet found for be the following challenges: (1) cut many more leaf pieces than I needed for the quilt; but I am making pillow shams (or just smaller pillows) so used the extra … but had to buy more fabric to get same colors. (2) the little teal flowers I flipped different directions when assembling. (3) was pleased to cut & use different centers for yellow flowers … but those folded corners were challenging to get consistent edges - so was SO happy I chose to starch ALL print fabric -a BIG help in piecing & assembling. (4) the angles were challenging but result is awesome. (5) while it turned out ok, there was no way to tell ahead of time as I assembled the roses where they were going to end up! I am a confident intermediate quilter and found I needed to concentrate to follow your instructions - a very good thing as the result is so worth the effort. I am in awe of your designs and have ordered one of your books to try another. I love your fabric and bought too much so am using it in simpler and quicker patterns. Thank you for all your work in making the videos … the border goes on next and am waiting for fabric cause I changed my mind on the color! I’ve followed you on other RB blocks too. Apologize for length is this …😂
@ankastreasures92877 ай бұрын
Hi Sandi - Thanks for sewing along with me and taking time to share some feedback on the sew along. I appreciate you leaving lots of detail, so no need to apologize for the length 🙂You are right - there is a lot of concentrate on with this pattern! There are lots of sizes and details to keep straight. The pattern was the most detailed of anything that I have designed and written, so it was a challenge for me too! That is part of why I wanted to do a sew along for this quilt, as I know there are many quilters who might need the extra help. I'm so glad to hear that you found the results so worth the effort! I hope you means you love your finished quilt!! I will just comment on two things for others reading: There should not be any extra green pieces if cut as written. To tell what roses go where, if you look at step 32, the blocks are labeled "Rose Block A", "B", and "C". Then you can look ahead in the pattern and see that Rose block A is used in Step 33, Rose block B in step 34, and Rose Block C in step 35. In Step 36 you can see where each of those sections end up in the quilt.

ahh, my bad on the rose instructions! I will know better for next time as I would really like to make another and since I got the table runner, I will likely do that one before a big quilt. I am thrilled with this rose quilt! It was out of my comfort zone but well worth it! Ill will check back on the leaves cutting instructions ('tho it worked out for the best) and now that I've made the roses, instructions 34 - 35 will make better sense. Thank you sincerely.@@ankastreasures9287

I think those roses are going to cover half the width of a queen mattress/ just too big of a block for an actual bed.
@ankastreasures92878 ай бұрын
The rose blocks are 18", so they are large. The big quilt fits a twin bed, but I prefer to hang the quilt in my front entry. The scale is perfect for that. (If interested, you can view how that looks by checking out the end of the video I just posted. Week 6)

Thank you! So happy to hear you are enjoying my work. I’m so excited to start as soon as my box kit arrives. I am a starcher, so wondering if there is enough fabric in the kits to allow for shrinkage? Thanks for a great introduction video.
@ankastreasures928710 ай бұрын
Hi Toni - thanks for asking. I think there would be enough, but since I am not a starcher, I don’t know exactly how much extra fabric it takes. One of the runners takes a 5” stacker, so I know that wouldn’t work. I guess I would suggest double checking before cutting.
