Never stop joking that's what makes your reactions enjoyable as well as your reactions to Classic Who which i'm always down for watching. Dr. Who was originally intended to be an educational program as creator Sydney Newman insisted that he didn't want any bug eyed monsters or anything sci-fi but it was the Daleks that made Dr. Who an instant hit and became one of the most iconic villains in science fictionn history despite their pepper pot appearance the creature inside and their racial purity and destruction is what makes them terrifying without them i don't think this show would had continued passed 1963 the Daleks is what saved the show. During filming of part 2 that week the cast and crew were actually intense and in shock about the news about the JFK assination but the actors managed to to stay in character especially when you notice where William Hartnell fluffed one of his lines where he says "They may had been anti-radiation gloves" then corrects himself to "drugs".

@@Darkly_i_Shine if you watch the early DALEK episodes they're everywhere!!! Once when the BBC reshowed this story, I knew I friend was watching as well. We got the overdramatic DALEK dying scene and I nearly choked from laughing, then the cardboard DALEKS showed up and I was dialing my friend number so quickly, turned out they were dialing me so the phone didn't even ring all you could hear was me and her laughing so hard for like 3 mins. @@Darkly_i_Shine edge is a bit of a strange one. Some people love it some people aren’t that fond of it. Definitely do "The Edge of Destruction" as that's only two episodes anyway and it reaches a full circle with the characters which you don't want to miss out of context. "Marco Polo" was the next story after unfortunately that doesn't exist anymore as it was wiped by the BBC thankfully the soundtracks of it do exist. I'd would say do the whole thing in order starting from the fifth story "The Keys of Marinus" because it helps maybe getting into the characters more and an attachment to those characters and since there's 97 missing episodes out of 253 episodes from the black and white era you'll probaly get through it quickly anyway there's 17 complete William Hartnell stories in full out of 29 stories and 7 Patrick Troughton stories out of 21 stories but yeah if you don't want to do that then yes definitely look into "The Aztecs" after "The Edge of Destruction".

@@Darkly_i_Shine Ha! I never thought about it in those terms, but that sounds about right. Regarding the Doctor's age, there are going to be times when you will wonder where all that time went. The Second Doctor will say he's 450 and the Fourth Doctor will say he's 749, yet we the audience and his mostly human companions seem to always be with him. One must assume that he would take off for years at a time in between serials and do his own thing and then return to his companions without them ever realizing.

In solidarity for the pain you went thru while recording and editing this episode, I rode my stationary bicycle while watching 💪Thx for being a motivation for getting healthier (not your plan, I know, and definitely not your responsibility, but your content is now part of my reward system) Also, contrary to a comment from a Classic Who reaction, the clips you add are NOT distracting. They are part of your reaction (you add the visual and audial references that pop into your mind as you are watching.) Unless a person has no inner dialogue or memory, this is how we all interact with the arts. Of course, I'm biased toward the editing because I enjoy the process, but you've received 99% positivity on your style. I'm making sure that the joy you are bringing your audience is not overshadowed by a single comment

The unique thing with Godzilla is he can be a good guy or bad guy depending on the interpretation of the character. Even in ones where he’s the antagonist like Minus One or the original 1954 film, there’s a sense of tragedy because he’s presented as a creature who never asked to be mutated. Humanity’s atomic testings not only mutated him but traumatized him to now be in constant pain/anger hence why he attacks cities. However as time went on after the original 1954 movie in the sequels/reboots, he became more of a anti-hero fighting evil monsters that threaten his home, Earth. I hope you react to the current American movies called “The Monsterverse.” The films so far are Godzilla (2014), Kong Skull Island, Godzilla King of the Monsters (2019), Godzilla vs Kong, & Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. There is also a show set in the Monsterverse called Monarch: Legacy of Monsters.

This movie takes place after the Japanese were defeated in WWII. They were occupied by the Americans and their military was being completely dismantled. What government there was wasn’t really in charge of much other than recovering from the war and didn’t have anything or any way to fight off something like Godzilla. If this had really happened a citizen only response would probably be their only option.

The problem you're going to run into with the first two Doctors is that a lot of the "important" episodes no longer exist. they were erased and they haven't had animated reconstructions yet. Luckily, thanks to the Whovian fan base who was obsessive even back then, the original sound recordings from every episode still exist. Those sound recordings are what they base the animations around.

And speaking of important animated reconstructed episodes, The Celestial Toymaker was just released as an animated reconstruction, and given the characters recent appearance in The Giggle, that one should qualify as important. I explain why below, so that's spoilers, but I'm recommending The Daleks, The Dalek Invasion of Earth, The Rescue, The Space Museum, The Chase, and The Time Meddler. I'm not going to judge which are good ones, but, for important ones, for the first two seasons, I'd call out The Daleks for introducing the Daleks, The Dalek Invasion of Earth for the introduction of Daleks being able to leave Skaro and the first companion departure, The Rescue for the next companion being introduced, The Space Museum for having temporal shenanigans as part of the plot for the first time, The Chase for introducing the Daleks' time-travel capabilities and having the next companion departure, and The Time Meddler for being the first pseudo-historical (being set in Earth's past but with sci-fi elements)

First Doctor: The Daleks, which is the next episode after an Unearthly child. Also for the first Doctor- “The Aztecs”. For the second Doctor, “the mind robber”, and “tomb of the Cybermen”. Third: “spearhead from space” (regeneration story), “Terror of the Autons”. Fourth doctor- “robot” (his first episode, abd “Genesis of the Daleks” which ties into newer Who more than any other classic episode. And please keep in mind these episodes rather show the time in which they were made. However much is the same. I’ve put in episodes that might tie in to nuWho or give you a feel for the doctor. Some episodes have slow pacing due to the time period but it’s amazing how much they show the doctor is always the doctor. Ian and Barbara really helped change him, and it’s the first time we see he needs humans to soften him. And yes, Susan screams a lot. When she finally left, I cheered. For my ears’ sake

There'a a reason the first doctor can't steer. Gallifrey has "the eye of harmony", made from a black hole, that acts as a power source and navigational beacon (universal lighthouse) for all the Tardises. The Doctor muffled the connection when he left so his Tardis gets power but isn't sending transponder data back to Gallifrey reporting its position (so they don't immediately know where he is), but that means he's not getting data either so the GPS navigation is offline, and he has to navigate by dead reckoning, which he has not yet learned how to do and it's kind of tricky at the best of times. Ordinarily a Tardis works a bit like an elevator, punch in your destination and it goes there automatically. He's giving it offsets from his last known position, but everything's constantly moving and the time vortex has currents that send you off course. So it gets to its destination and then lands in the nearest reasonably habitable spot, which isn't always a planet.
