I just found your video and it's been very helpful. I would like to know if you can guide me with clocking the rack and pinion, I'm using a rack and pinion off an 84 Vette and installed it on my 57 Chevy truck but the lines on top are in the way. I need to rotate them to the front of the rack and pinion. Thanks for any help that you can provide.
@RustedandBustedАй бұрын
Hmm that's a tough one. I didn't have to clock this one fortunately and I'm not entirely sure it's possible. Only way I could see this working a little easier for you would be to make some custom fabricated lines and route them to the front and around the body to avoid interference. The top lines (if I'm thinking correctly) are the lines that transfer fluid to each chamber and they should be very close to equal length to allow equal flow to each side at a minimum.
@jklmbrandАй бұрын
@@RustedandBusted Thanks for your response, yes, I'm talking about the top lines. I've seen them when they have rotated the housing where the top lines are moved to the front so the engine can sit down a little further and still remove the rack and pinion if necessary.
@RustedandBustedАй бұрын
@jklmbrand I gotcha now. The black sleeved portion I can't recall if it has a rivet or set screw holding it in place. It is two pieces though so if you were able to rotate it you may have to drill through a new location to set it in place and plug up the area where the original hole was. Failing that, you may be able to tap new holes in the body of the rack and add new fittings where you made the holes. Obviously way more work there but you could then put the fitting anywhere you want.

Turned out for the best! What compound and polish are you using, I used to use Ferecla g10 but can't get it anymore and a polish that was pink but was goldwings secret polish. The last vehicle I buffed with newer compounds and polish left bad holograms in the clear on my black high country Silverado. I felt like an idiot but it's live and learn. Off topic question, howd you get the c4 tail lights to hook up to your blueghozt? did you use a 2-3 wire splitter by chance? Im trying it with my 1990 corvette cuz its got those dual filament 1157 bulbs where the DRL/tail lights are on their own wire and the brake and turn share the second wire. I cant seem to get it to work, the module keeps getting confused. any thoughts or suggestions?
@RustedandBusted4 ай бұрын
Good question!! Oh it was not that easy my friend. I tried the splitter but it did not work as I needed it. As you may or may not know, the brake signal and the turn signal are on the same fixtures. If you have a third brake light you would think you would be able connect the ghozt to that but then then the turn signal would still activate when you press the brakes. What I had to do was cut the brake signal wire at the pedal and run a dedicated brake signal from the pedal to the controller. When you sever that connection the ECU of the car would only see turn signal to the rear lights. It's a bit hard to explain LOL Basically, the car ECU controls the lighting to switch between signal and brake. You'll need to bypass that signal and one filament signal will be your park light and the other a turn signal. You'll also need to switch your flash relay to an electronic one in order to use LEDS as well otherwise it won't have enough draw to pull that relay in and activate

Hey man, I hope you still read your comments. I am getting ready to do my front struts on my 1982 Rx7 and I want to replace them all together with updated KYB struts. My question does the spindle come off of the strut?
@RustedandBusted4 ай бұрын
Hey dude! They do not! The shock is an insert to the strut/spindle. There's a massive nut on the top that holds it all in there. Only place that I know of that sells new struts complete is Techno toy tuning if you want to go that route. Otherwise compress the spring, remove it and undo the nut at the top of the shock and pull them out. They may get stuck so just pull and pull until it comes out. Good luck!
