What if you don’t have an apple juice at hand and the facility only provides at mealtime unless you go to the kitchen to get one?

Suggest to using the 'TELISON positioning bed pad with handles', which will be more convenient to help patient on turning/sitting up/lifting. It could be ordered from US amazon.

I’m just curious, why would you use someone who can visibly move on his own. As a nurse why not use an actual bed bound person?🤦‍♀️

Great video..I'll be sharing this with others as we just purchased a wheelchair for my mom and trying to train others (siblings and fam) how to use it as a caregiver for 20+ years. My mom complains of me tightening the gait belt too much, but I feel like if I don't it gets too loose and it gets up to her chest and she can't hardly breathe. Any tips on the positioning and how tight to put the gait belt on the person we are caring for?

Currently providing home care for my wife who has already been in a wheelchair with a disability. One point you MIGHT have included was to assure that the patient's FEET are on the foot pedals. True, some patients might not need them; they might either 'walk' along as they are being pushed or rolling on their own, but they might not be able to.

I use pedals for my mom as she easily slides and the pedals "somewhat" provides that support or hold.

My mom won’t stop screaming at me because “I don’t have her new emails” or “I don’t have her rainbow car” I’m loosing my fucking mind, it’s been 5 months since her TBI and I’m glad she’s finally able to be home and everything, but she’s always confused, always angry, and i just don’t know what to do.

Tell us how to move/reposition a patient who is bedridden and does not move at all and cannot hold on to nothing because cannot move her hands at all. and ok on the video you just showed how to reposition patient on one side, but what you do to the other side? Maybe the same thing you did to that side but then do it to the other side as well after 2 hours?

I love the part where he shows you how to actually use a gait belt, you know, as in helping people out of a chair and such.

I'm no expert, but I understand that you can tell if a stability ball is the right size for you when , as you sit on it, your knees form a 90 degree angle. Also, rather than lace your fingers together behind your head, you ight gently support your head by placing your finger tips behind your ears. That way, you won't be tempted to use your arm strength to raise yourself up as you crunch. And... it's best, when crunching , to keep your chin back as if you had an orange tucked under it...and look up at the ceiling. When lifting weights while lying on the ball, it might be best to walk forward a bit so that your head is supported by the ball...eases neck strain.
