Great movie

I remember seeing this movie when it first came out. Something happened and I missed seeing part 2. I was so upset!!! I was at Walmart a few weeks later and saw they happened to have the book. A guy walked by and was telling me he saw the movie AND that he had recorded it on VHS. He offered to let me borrow it. I met him at the store a couple days later, watched and returned it when I was finished. I did buy the book but I was so grateful for the kindness of that guy that day. I would small talk with him whenever I ran into him after that. This was in a small town when Walmart and society were much better. I go into the same Walmart today and sometimes I want to weep over how things have become downgraded.

Not an overly complicated movie...I really enjoyed it.

This is one of my favorite favorite movies!! Momma Flora reminds me so much of the time I spent with my great grandmother ❤❤❤❤ she was truly one of the sweetest women ever!!! And just like momma Flora my grandmother’s dad was mixed with curly hair! The cast is absolutely amazing!! Cicely Tyson will forever be an ICON!! She truly embodies any character she plays!!! Along with Lou Myers, Queen Latifah, and the handsome Blair Underwood, handsome Mario Van Pebbles, Shamar Moore, and Della Reese!! The entire cast is just phenomenal ❤❤❤

This is one of those movies that fell through the cracks and turns out to be a Gem...1. Pretty good acting...2. good wholesome story telling...3.and with all this music potential for a great music sound track...how is it i just saw it for the first time...I asked all my friends and found out like myself...none of us new about this great movie...i am very impressed...and the movie has a lesson...real life lessons.

Funny how two people that were so much in love can suddenly fall apart. Glad to see them finally get it together in the end!
