I've had my CPAP machine for over a week and I've not been able to sleep at all while it's on. I wear it for a couple of hours and then take it off to get some sleep.

On my Airsense 10 the output pressure starts out low and gradually builds to the appropriate pressure output settings for me. By the time that the unit reaches the optimal pressure setting for me, I am already asleep so it does not bother me. The old unit I had years ago did not have this capability so back in the day when using the old model that I had, I pretty much had to put up with at the full pressure setting that was set on that unit. I am so glad that they added the capability for the pressure to gradually adjust until reaching optimal setting. It makes going to sleep with the mask on much much easier.

Yes. That’s a great feature. It’s the “ramp”.

My dry mouth is more complex. I use a full face, but long ago I had a mouth guard that had a tongue bar on it. I have a bad habit of sucking on my tongue at night as a part of clenching. This is maintained like this for some time, and it pulls water out of the membranes and also can swell the tongue papillae. I broke my guard a long time ago. I may have to get another one.

I like how you break this down. Its like you're talking personally to me and know what I'm experiencing as I feel like throwing in the towel with this thing. But I know it will help. I just don't want to have to use it forever either.

I keep getting a low score, no matter what I do! I tightened my mask, made sure no leak, wore it an hour before sleep and it’s the same result. Which is that I wore it only an hour when I know I slept 7 hours. So frustrating!

My prescribed bipap pressure is 24/20. The Bleeps work great for a few minutes, and usually for 2-3 hours. After that, however, my experience is that the metal rings start detaching from the tape and leaks develop. It isn't a matter of the tape coming off or loose from my skin--its the ring coming loose from the tape.

Been on cpap since 2009. Had Dr. support for three years. Bought my own auto adjust. He had me on 11. Was too much had leak. Auto shows me it is on 8 most of the time. I sleep pretty well at age 77. Don't need tube holder. It goes at top of head below pillow and rolls easily with me.

😂😂First thing I thought when you were explaining maintenance is, what filter? When I got my CPAP it was thru the mail, no help with anyone. The business I deal with for supplies basically goes like this, what mask do you want? OK here it is, now pay. No help at all. So thank-you, I’ve learned a lot👍
