I'm watching this because Donna is now getting a LifeTime Achievement GRAMMY Award - her 6th GRAMMY. And, I am in tears. I was there and at the private party afterward. It brought back so many memories. We all had a wonderful time at the Walk of Fame event for Donna Summer, and the next day too. I was going to share a story that was very personal, but suffice it to say that at times, Donna was very motherly toward me, and other times she was like a big sister; but she was always hilariously funny, kind, and loving. I will say this: Nell Carter, who is now surrounded with love, resting, and at peace in Paradise, walked up to me right before this Walk of Fame Ceremony, and said, "I hate you"! I turned and looked at her with surprise and asked "Why?" and she touched my hair and said, "Because I Love your beautiful hair." and then she smiled, and I laughed. I told her my name and that I already knew hers. I saw her later at the party at the Cinegrill, a room in the adjacent hotel to where Donna's star is, and as she walked by, she mouthed to me, "I hate you" and I replied with an audible, "Well, I LOVE you!" and she said, "I love you too." I said, "Friends?" "Yes", she replied. What Nell Carter said about Donna Summer and the song Unconditional Love was true. Donna never said an unkind word about anyone, and she would always find a positive thing to interject. In other words, she would attempt to change the subject by saying something positive, and if that didn't work, she would excuse herself. She wouldn't listen to gossip. I'm pleased she is being remembered and recognized for her contributions to the music and our culture, but still the world is a little less bright with her gone.

I am forever a fan of the Diana Ross voice of the 70's it was pure bliss. She has lost some of that lushness. However, recently she has sounded as good as I've heard it in some time. She sounds great here.
