Never had a issues after all these years it does not need to be perfectly water tight some water I guess could go through the side but not enough to effect the level and there not much for water pressure

It not bad on noise imo

The 125 I have hybrid t5 with hydra 32. I hang most of my lights just to keep them a little higher. The wider rim makes it harder. Almost think if you did not want to hang it ether make a bent tube something for electrical conduit I used once to hang them off of. If you have a row of light use a c channel with it to mount it to.

I have not had a issue with salt creep. That’s a good thought to pre rinse it with vinegar. Because since break in the valve has not been needed. I was even good after my deep clean just last night with citric acid

At start up yes. Why I installed a air valve. But after a week and now going on close to a year I don’t get micro bubbles

It’s not the cheapest option. But cheaper then most already made sumps out there. My other video has another option we are trying. Hard to clean though. There is footage of that in my 125 gallon crash video. (That’s sump is the fix not the reason for the crash)

It’s acrylic to glass. I used silicone because the pressure is not as great as the outside walls. It’s been over 8months and no issues with the Fiji kit been very happy with that diy kit

@@carlosbarajas382 just a standered coral glue I think that was the brs brand and think would work for a gel superglue gorilla stuff from dollar general etc.

Over flow is a hob cpr with aqua lifter Return I’m using a current USA return pump Both are the largest size available

@@Pr1orPwn3d sorry not a direct link. I did find a “CPR CS202 Overflow Box” On amazon but the deluxe model was not available. You need the toms aqua lifter and the lid is recommended takes the noise down. It’s not crazy loud but it does make noise and it’s more obvious without the lid. I bought mine two years ago seems to be less options now

Yes I got lazy with the canister. There got and got power but the maintenance is to much for me. More power to the people who are successful with them

@@lawstropicalgarden9175 i'm in the process of upgrading from my nano saltwater to a full fledged 125 g reef tank so would you say if i can keep on top of the maintenance of the canister i don't need a sump? rn i'm just looking at building my own stand as i'll be getting a petsmart 125g tank deal which comes with a stand i think the one at petsmart has enough space for the sump but if not i'll go with tank only and build my own stand

@@MrDon967 my only advice on stands is mdf wood does not hold up that’s what mine is I knew better but when we move I will change the stand or upgrade. And on canisters life got busy for me and that started to feel like a chore and that’s why I slacked off. And failed. My new build coming in a future video has a hob filter. I’ve learn to by what fits my life style and budget best.

@@lawstropicalgarden9175 i get what you mean man i know a new fx6 or something will cost like $350 i'm sure i can make my own sum with a goodwill tank or something for $100 for the tank and compartments. after that i will just need return pump and plumbing which i'm sure won't cost more then $100 so i'm still debating. if i find a fx6 used for under $200 i might just go with that or put 2 smaller canisters so i can each by weekly or something coz i know in my fresh water 40 gallon tank whenever i can the filter the water is cloudy for a few days i'm guessing due to reduction of BB that can help with smaller particles. the thing is i don't want to set one up that isn't big enough and then have to upgrade again that's why i want 125g and stick with it for a while so i;m guessing your next build is fairly small?
