My family grew up going to Grindell's Trailer park, W. Dennis. Jack's store, snatch alley lol, sunday school, the leaning tower of pizza. Swan River. We stayed on lot 13 till about 1989. My dad grew up going there when they used tents and they had cottages, back in the 40's. Can you smell the Hawaiian Tropic oil?

Thanks for sharing! The quality is very good. A number of the concrete dead men were behind my house, growing up. I've located the stumps of masts 2, 4, and 6 and 18 of the 24 dead men left behind by the Navy and RCA. Great glimpse into our town's history.

Z o m g I love Edward Gorey's books!!! :)
@sarahroberts964125 күн бұрын
I was exposed to Edward Goreys art as a tween. The books he illustrated. I chased after the illustrations a bit. Found his own books. I have so many of the publications. I love them so much. Yes, it's dark. But, absurd, and wonderful. No one understands those books when I bring them out. And that's okay. There's something really soothing to me when I read or look at his art.

Thank you for this. I miss my old hometown. It has changed so much from the 50's and 60's when I was growing up there. It's been awhile since I was last home. Also enjoy your other vids, especially those about lightships which I was on in the 60's.

Thank you for sharing this. Where I live we don’t see a lot of cold days. When we do the entire state shuts down. It’s ridiculous. 😂 The shot overlooking the ocean is really beautiful.

Great video. My dad was a Northeast pilot during the yellowbird era and I lived in Jax in the early 2000s. Of course Imeson field was long gone by then. I don't think there's any other video of Northeast operating in Jacksonville. Thanks for posting!
