i just passed by that Sears at the very beginning of the video a couple of times in both my car and on the MTA 4 bus within the last month. It is gone and a huge construction site stadium size hole now is there. It appears there is going to be a massive apartment complex built there... MORE people. it is mind boggling how different every single thing is now obviously everywhere, but on that same street as compared to 55 plus years ago. i would do a lot to go back and stay in that time period for at least a couple of weeks and just try and absorb everything in. drive and walk around and find old family and friends. talk with people and see how different people's personalities were then as compared to now. the difference in demographics alone are difficult to comprehend. it was mostly whyte.

By the way, this film is shot on Santa Monica blvd going west from Wilton place. I worked at SMB on the corner of Bronson. The video ends just west of Gower. Happy memories.

Does anyone know what these films are, that is, what their purpose was, why these were made? Such films have become a staple on KZbin now, almost a form of time travel. What are we looking at? B-footage for background in car scenes?

This clip is from 1960. Some people are still driving their cars from the mid, late & early 50's. Just one or two from the 40's. Not many people drove older make vehicles like they do today. For instance, I drive a 2010 model. If you drove a 14 year old vehicle in 1960 your make would have been from 1946 & people would have probably looked down at you.....especially in this area of California, lol. Why do you think that was?

My paternal grandmother drove a '59 Mercury in the same color, only it was a four door sedan and a Monterey. About that slanted antenna...when I was about six or seven, I got it into my head that it wasn't supposed to slant like that, and I tried to straighten it. Popped the damned thing out of the fender.

I kinda question this. In a real arrest situation they would have removed any and all weapons. Notice he's still wearing the magazines under his right arm. In another video it shows he still has his firearm on his left hip. Another thing, they would have removed his sunglasses. It's odd they continue chatting so calmly with an armed suspect in custody. I call B.S. on this.

We need to ramp up the penalties on this crime. Its incredibly dangerous to the public. Start at 20 years.
