Ok so good the problem was right in your face once you go through splitting the tractor. Just think if you didn’t see the problem like you did and a different component failed, how would you know? Did you do any real diagnostics instead of changing oil, filter, and looking at some valves? Would you have checked main pump, lube, charge pump pressures? I’m saying is before disassembling things you need to know what what’s going on and obtain information and then dive into repairs.

our 4640 seems to have strong hydraulics but cavitaition and chattering acers when demanding flow for a period of time. such as running an orbit motor on the chaff spreader on the pull type combine. but issue seems to go away when engine is at full throttle. My guess is its something to do with the lift pump. It is a quad range transmission so the setup is a bit different though.

Hi! Would this also explain why a 4650 loses its gears once it's warmes up? When cold it still has 3 gears, but once warmed up, they are all gone..😂

So I watched the whole video and without seeing the old pickup tube I never got to see what went wrong, just that the old elbow went bad

Would you have been able to replace elbow through the starter hole?

Now that you know the issue, do you think it would be possible to put an endoscope camera in the transmission housing and check to see if that tube was gone in another 4650 exhibiting the same problem?

How does the tractor not throw codes all the time?
