so you’re telling me billions in gold all either was spent or seized😂 bs…. himmler was going to run away with 50 million. the amount of money and commodities that was actually taken would be at least in the high billions. other than that there is very good factual things in the documentary.

I have visited the last V1 and V2 factory, named Dora, in huge tunnels in mid-Germany, which began operating a short time after the bombing of Penemünde by the English, in a former fuel deposit in a mountain! It and the site of the horror camp for the workers, with its crematorium, is still a museum to visited. An enormous railroad area for loading the rockets is situated and must have been observed from the air, so the Americans raced to reach it, and to take most secrets before the Sovjets took over the area after the war, as was the deal.

If they're smart they would never talk about it, and anyone involved wouldn't either, as the leak of information would be obvious, as well as lead to confiscation from whichever authority. A lot of money and information traded hands at the end of the war, as well as backroom deals through all levels of government and military.

V 2's were not only used against Britain but also Belgium, especially against the port of Antwerp. If the Germans produced planes under the mountains, there had to be many much larger entrances somewhere, how else to get the assembled planes out ? Von Braun & co... No idea if they should have been held accountable for the slave labour... Anyway, they promised the Americans -literally- the Moon...

america had nothing to do with victory. it’s like arriving to the fight, when the enemy is already beaten to the ground. add few kicks, proclaim yourself a victor. yeah, sure. us ww2 vets are a joke
@KwazyIndian3 жыл бұрын
hmm I don't if I would say already beaten to the ground... Russian winter had burned them but they weren't beaten. If German was able to focus on one front at a time instead of multiple opened by the likes of Britain and US... things might have been different. Let's also not forget the supplies sent to continue the war efforts against German.

A@xellossaxon what enemies are you referring to, the French? The Poles? The Dutch? Why do you think the Germans always started so strong and ended poorly? Because they aalmost always caught the enemy off guard. Once the enemy got their shit together , the Germans "superior" "tactics and equipment" suddenly not so effective
@floridaboi9043 жыл бұрын
@xellossaxon it took so long because Hitler ordered every German in every city to fight to the last. Obviously
@trailingarm633 жыл бұрын
@xellossaxon Not yet. The Nazis were only impressive in the first couple of years of the war when their actions and tactics took complacent countries and their armies by surprise. When the allies toughened up and reorganised they made relentless progress against them in ALL theatres. To the Nazis' credit they maintained discipline, fought hard and retreated in orderly fashion but that's the best you can say about them. My comparison with the Vikings was based on Saxon King Alfred and his direct descendants. Initially the Vikings seemed invincible but once Alfred organised his burh system (fortified towns) his family barely lost another battle.
