A must have in my opinion. The sílica depending where you leave need freq changes, just a reminder that you can "recharge" it in the oven

most compressors come with the attachments loose to prevent damage in shipping, the instructions should tell you what to tighten for initial setup

Where did you buy this air compressor?
@steelknightcnc
@steelknightcnc 20 күн бұрын
It would depend on which country you live in. Since I live in Germany/ Austria. This is a German brand. Try searching "silent air compressors in america 100L"

Have you drawn up your full design of the new machine yet or are you still working on it ? what size spindle are you going to use on the next machine ? - looking forward to the full build.

Hey thanks for the reply. So right now I am going step by step in fusion building this machine. I am thinking about putting a 2.2kw air cooled spindle er 20 collet. I just ordered the aluminum plate yesterday. So I hope to start with in the next week or so cutting it out and putting it all together. If you dont mind help spread the word. Thanks

@@steelknightcnc . Great I will just wait for each step as you build. You have the added advantage of already having a CNC machine and its great to see you use this. I thought you were going to use a water cooled spindle ? - with your nice new Aluminium Tank ? . I am currently building a Steel framed CNC and I have a 4kW Air cooled Spindle with an ER25 to mount on it and my colleague has nearly finished building his Aluminium framed 8x4 large format CNC Router.

@@1973shaner Yes. I will move my 1.5kw water cooled to the new machine and thee air cooled to the steel knight. Wow that is going to be a beast. Whats the max rpm of your spindle?

Looking forward to the build video series. I am just starting a CNC build myself but with a steel frame construction like the one you already have. Nice work by the way.

Thanks, videos will be coming soon. I am sure you are well aware, but make sure when you are building with steel ( if you are not a welder) make sure you do not put to much heat into your metal let it cool. Even though I am a welder. my frame twisted because I was a fool. I had to cut the welds out and grind them flat. Use an absolute near flat surface for the table. I am not sure what guide rails you will use? I used a depth gauge for the table guides clamped them into place. Then used the punch to mark the holes. What I enjoyed the most was, Designing, building, and seeing it come to life and work. enjoy building your machine.
