Wow this is a can of worms! I stumbled across your original build thread while looking for torque ratings on deutz engines. Trying to gather all the information i can, as I am planning my 1967 C30 build with a BF6L912 as the engine. Wanted to use a 913, but these old motors are getting virtually impossible to find, and very expensive! I love this build. The linkage is fantastic!

It would have been easier to put a pump drive on the PTO and just a motor drive on the blower, saves 800lbs and would be easier to hook up with just a few hoses.

You need 75 /150hp to run that blower. There's not near enough hydraulic power to run that blower efficient. Yes with hydraulic pump it would spin but try to use and and will be extremely disappointed 😞😞😞.

@@troyaiken3623 Bettter check your numbers because I have one running my Snow blower with an 18.5 hp Briggs, on my polaris ATV! It does just fine here in western wisconsin, and I dont have to fight the weight when I get stuck! Specs, 18.5 Briggs, 23 gallon per minute fluid pump,11 gallon per minute hydraulic motor, under drive pulley and a 36inch single stage blower from a garden tractor. Its not about the pressure, its about the flow! You don't need 2300psi to move snow, you do need a specific RPM on the impeller, or drum in my case, and that is 1150rpm ish. there is almost no pressure, until you load that blower, and then its never near 2300psi. maybe 1100 at the most. Most tractors have a PTO on the back end, and thus are drive shaft driven from that point. that tractor on the video is a tractor back hoe, and can be set up to run a motor from a pump drive. How much effort one wants to put into making it work? Well that's the true question. in my case, a low back injury forced me to do this. I am 6'3" and have issures with handling a walk behind, and the tractor mounted ones are worse when you get stuck. This is my solution, and with 300 plus foot driveway in the woods, Walking, and trying to muscle a walk behind isn't an option.

Your 2019/20 updaye looks smooth, but why sell it? Going to a tractor with a blower on the rear PTO reversing it for the rest of your days will only destroy your back, neck and shoulders and that aint any fun as a young lad. Can't imagine it getting any better with age 😬

@@clipmagician I got one of those "old tractors" with reversing seat, but I still have a front mount snow blower with its own diesel engine :D What's the fun if it isn't a bit old and home built? My problem is I don't get enough snow fall to justify the madness other than I want it. Sometimes wish I lived in the Canadian interior

@@clipmagician Quite the predicament you got yourself in there! Should maybe have had a big excavator to drag yourself out with or a hefty winch. Are you from Hungary? Yeah, I can see that the easy route is the most favorable one as you get older. My father sold his older house to buy a brand new "small city flat". He got tired of the maintenance to keep the house and wanted an easier retirement life.

Oh, one more comment on that Deutz engine choice,...no radiator no hoses no water pump less weight and Deutz reliability , great engine choice, 70 horse power on call is not bad either.
@regsparkes6507

@@clipmagician I mentioned the Horse Power amount simply because that is the number that 99% of folks 'know' and talk about when talking engines. It was merely an observation and therefore a comment on my part at the time. Now some 8 years on I really could care less which engine is better than what. P.S. If you want to debate this further you need to talk AT somebody who cares! :)
