I recently got the 4 older sketchbooks at a good price, but if they are all included in the bigger version ( along with an extra 100 pages or so from what I can tell ) it seems like it might be worth me selling them to fund buying the big version. Unless there is anything exclusive to those.

Personally, I would hang on to them. Especially if they’re signed. I’m not familiar with all four volumes, but I would imagine that you aren’t missing much and a complete collection is probably quite valuable.

@@Wingsart weirdly one of them isn't signed / filled in but the other 3 are. They seem good condition, but it's a shame that they are only about 32 pages each, where as I am told this complete edition book is about 220, which is nuts!

I would have to assume it's to allow each piece some space to breathe, but I agree, it does seem wasteful. You could at least add more development sketches as they appear in some instances.

wow one of my friends showed me this illustrators work in the begining of the pandemic.I was so hooked.just saw this on your blog and popped in here to watch.i love the simplicity yet allure of this illustrators style. goes well with the art deco font poster boards of that era. thank you for this flip through.

I'm not familiar with the Augmented Edition, but a quick search shows a slipcase and prints that I don't have in my copy. I suspect that edition was an early limited run.

I'm a long time Leyendecker fan too. I'm an artist as well and I do J C Leyendecker Master copies too. They are speed paintings, have a look. I plan to do many more.

@@Wingsart Thank you very much! Is the poster of the last emperor on page 104 uncut? Often the upper part of the throne is missing here. The best way to compare this is with the small image on page 105. How is the print quality, sharpness, colours, details?

@@JohnDoe-gc9dy The print quality is very high throughout. The image on 104 is trimmed slightly, probably loosing a couple of millimetres in page bleed.

Many of the anime films and specials seen in there have yet to receive English dubs or Fathom Events. I can think of no better publisher for the Fathom Events of Tezuka tv specials than 20th Century Studios. Bremen 4 should get a follow up too. The story of Bagi should continue in a sequel too.
