Be careful if you have pets. Rodents take a lot of poisen and becone toxic to your pets if they catch a poisened rodent.

Here in Southern California, on February 17th 2017, we had a severe storm that brought 105 mph winds here in the San Fernando Valley. It drpped over 6 inches of rain also. It was a low pressure area wich picked up tropical moisture which intensified the storm here in Southern California. There was lots of damage to property and trees. Unfortunately, 15 people were killed and dozens of people were hurt.

Realized that it could also double as a way to store extra dirt, mulch etc for the gardeners. I’d have to think thru hole to waterproof the holes a bit more or way to cover the dirt, etc. But then could avoid the cost of rock, have extra storage for something else, and the weight needed to keep it in place. Since the dirt or etc would be able to fill in wherever around the poles, it seems like it would work. Off to figure out a way to waterproof or cover that bottom area lol. Maybe pipe insulation at top?? Hmmmm

I can't use baits. I have a dog, and my neighbors also have dogs, so poisons are a no-go for me. Instead, I'm using steel rat traps (Made2catch) and cheap peanut butter. I'm knocking them out, averaging about four rodents a day, including field mice, deer mice, and voles. I set the traps near holes and on runs, cover them with large flower pots, buckets, or other containers large enough to cover the traps but still allow the voles and mice to get in, and check my trap lines every day. Yesterday, I took four fat voles. The day before, two voles and a field mouse. That's what works for me. I've also got a Tomcat vole trap that has taken about a vole a day for two weeks now. It has been set in the ground in a vole run and for two weeks now, it has done the job. There was only one day that nothing was in it, and I attribute that to there being no voles running through that tunnel that day. There is no need to bait it. It goes into the run and when a vole passes through it, it slams shut. The thing cost seventy-five bucks (!!!!), but dang it! It works!

Clever and cost-effective way to free float a barrel. And btw, you meant to say "65 inch-pounds", not 65 foot founds ;) ,which is also not a pressure, but a torque ;)

Rat poison is a billion dollar business. It is all based on a wildlife carrying capacity. Hawks were removed from our capacity by federal law. The hawks have completely devastated the rabbits in Arkansas and terrorizes the farm chickens. You are living in a bubble. .
