The Polearm fighters are my favorite. When I first tried them, I immediately found out how helpful they are. The only issue I for see is their speed. They are quite a bit slower than the other units, but they sure do pack a punch when pushed upon. Cheers!

What a waste of time

I'm really looking forward to when you can set more limits on things like production and trading (which I assume is coming) - currently I have to do a lot of micromanaging of things like cobblers and barter because if you don't have a big surplus they can very easily drain all your stockpile of leather/whatever else and leave your villages short of key resources. It'd be great to be able to tell barter to not trade away more than X of your reserve, or only barter for more goods if your stockpile drops below X, the same for cobblers using up all your leather to produce 600 shoes you can't sell fast enough. Oh and just as a warning - when you declare hostilities with the enemy baron they will hire often hire any available mercenaries. It's very advisable to hire them first if you can, and worth keeping in mind that they won't be available after until the month resets if you don't.

Your military units have metal helmets but no gambesons. Make some with an artisan?

I know you have the money to buy polearms at the trading post but why not just make them with an artisan and order the ore if you don't have any?

Superb video! Very good presentation and a nice balance of content. I'm very interested in this game. I absolutely loved Lionhead's The Movies back in the day. But, of course, like any Molyneux game it... didn't quite live up to the potential. I generally like the Two Point series. Two Point Hospital is the modern successor to Bullfrog's Theme Hospital (another Molyneux classic) that didn't QUITE catch my love. I played a few dozen hours and... it was definitely fun, but it just kinda ran out of steam for me. I haven't played much since it came out six years ago, so sadly I can't quite articulate the specifics on what I did and didn't like about Two Point Hospital. So this *SEEEEEEEEEEEEMS* like Two Point The Movies. Which is potentially amazing. I'm curious how much control you eventually have over the moviemaking. Have you played The Movies? Sadly it's not been picked up by any of the modern retro-games publishers, such as GOG, the way that Theme Hospital, Dungeon Keeper, and those games have. But yeah... I'd love to see more. Also, first-time-viewer, immediate-subscriber here :)

Would you say this is the right game for someone who loves Anno 1800? Like a week ago I played my very first Anno game (Anno 1800) because I always thought it is boring but oh boy was I wrong! After several hours I search for something similar but different so I found Railway Empire and thought if this is maybe the right thing.

You can trade between player owned regions now too. I believe it happens automatically but if you untick the boxes it will solely trade between your regions and it’s tariff free. Still have to pay for it. But if you think about it you can do some creative things that way transferring wealth around. It makes it like an actual economy between regions and you collect the tax either way! One idea I saw was keeping a region off the Kings tax radar by only upgrading one house for the region and making them the chief manufacturers (2 fams) of said “regional good”. Then you export it to your own regions and can expand tax free and upgrade later.

Are you buying horses from the stable? That works for me but trader doesn’t.

Foragers have 50 storage so you can actually empty the bushes each year by microing a couple fams between 8 plus huts and let the granaries get the berries as they have time or do an outpost granary with 2-3 permanent foragers and you’ll get like 300-400 or 700-800 respectively depending on rich or not.

Seems to me that there is going to be a lot involved in this game. I think with a bit of polishing it could be better.

Really appreciate any and all feedback. I had a lot of fun on this one and think it has a lot of promise! Let me know your thoughts.

From what I've found, if you upgrade the tents right from the get go, your approval will hover above 50% and you will get more families in right away. (so long as you built a few burgages in time). As it stands, you are wasting those first months.

Glad to see you expanding! Though it's weird the Retinue keeps getting obliterated so badly. With the rich iron mine in your new region, I strongly suggest going down the advanced armour and deep mine route (which requires almost all of your upgrade points to be put into that tree). A single iron or clay mine is large enough to have two mine buildings placed over it, and both will mine it (even with deep mines), allowing you to double your output and run around 6 bloomeries and almost as many smiths and armour makers as you can imagine. You can then barter the advanced goods for anything else you need, or sell them and buy supplies in (as a long term plan obviously - it's much better to be self sufficient in early development and switch to a smithing focus later).

Nice relaxing video. Little tip. With live-stock trader You can order multiple oxen at once. Don’t have to wait and buy each month one by one.

I claimed and succesfully won a region but when i want to settle on that region it says you have no goods and i found out each region has its goods seperately now i dont know how to transfer goods between them any tips?

You may be one of the satisfying manor lord content creators. Understand what aesthetic value is, the complexity of how you build roads with non-sharp turns (with curve), random house shapes (Ignore the shape must be a perfect rectangle) but neatly arranged. Looks beautiful. Because there is a lot of content creator out there that builds their cities with a square plot doctrine, there are no variations in shape. The roads is built too straight without curves, too boring. Another thing is that you really understand the effectiveness and mechanics of this game well. You do good calculations in building plans and execute them without hesitation. When I see content creators other than you, how they run and plan their city makes me anxious and frustrated haha. Keep up your work! I hope you can create up to 3 or 4 more new cities so that the episodes of this series run long...
