Hey, I just watched both your snapping videos and wanted to thank you for how clear and in-depth they are. I'm learning retopology and needed to understand the snapping options better. This channel is going to be a great resource. Thank you so much for taking the time to explain the details. You mentioned you'd talk about snapping in edit mode in a separate video. Have you made that video? Have a great day!

Glad you found the videos useful. Don't forget that there's also an ebook that, in effect, summarises each video and saves you having to keep rewatching. You might even find the occasional snippet of info in the book that's not in the videos. To download the ebook go to our website. Our website details are on every video thumbnail. I'm afraid I haven't made the video for the edit mode version of snapping yet. It might be several weeks yet since I intend to work through the edit mode Toolbar options first.

@@DSBlender Understood. The PDFs are great, too! Huge respect for what you're doing with this KZbin channel and the website. Thank you so much for taking the time to create this resource. Liked and subscribed, and wishing you best of luck :)

I can help you with that if you want

Thank you so much for taking the trouble to offer help. It is much appreciated. Actually, I'm not looking to up the number of subscribers yet. So far there are not enough videos on my channel to give people enough information about Blender to start creating anything meaningful. I don't think we'll be there for at least another 30 to 50 videos (so about a year from now). When I've got to that stage and the ebook is in its final stages, then I will see what strategies I can come up with to gather more subscribers. At that point your help would be much appreciated.

I have seen your KZbin channel, I like it very much, but your channel views are very less, because your channel is not doing SEO, views are not getting, if you do SEO, your channel will get more views.

Thank you for clear insight into Blender’s Inverse Parent data. It was always confusing, coming from all the major commercial 3D creation apps. I learned enough to clear it when I needed a “typical” hierarchical relation but your explanation gives me more info and another way to think about it.

Happy you found the video useful. Remember there's PDF pages to go with each video. The Parenting pages should be available shortly.

Glad you are finding them useful. Actually, I created the pages first and then the videos. Or at least that's what I did in the beginning, now it's the other way round!

is there a way to save millimeters as default measurement?
@DSBlender3 ай бұрын
Yes, you can. Just do the following steps: 0) Start a new project 1) Go to Properties Editor's Scene page. 2) Under the Units heading set Unit Scale to 0.001 Length to millimeters 3) Go to the Overlays panel (icon in top-right of 3D Viewport) Set Scale to 0.001 (redraws the grid) 4) Save your file. Probably best to put it in the Blender app folder. 5) Select "File" in the Blender menu bar and choose "Defaults">"Save Startup File" This will make your newly saved file the one that's loaded when you start a new project and so give you the millimeter settings you want. New objects will be 2mm rather than 2m. Thanks for the question. I'll update the video (soon) to demonstrate this. Please let me know how you get on.

Hi Danial. Thanks for the comment. My channel's very first comment! I hope you find something new in most of the videos. And don't forget to download the book that goes with them from the Digital Skills website (www.digital-skills.co.uk). Just click on the Blender button near the top of the Home page.
