great video where can i get the whole kit bearing, springs back plate and all?
@CamaroRestoration7 сағат бұрын
@TheKiddan68 you can't buy this all in one peice. Items like the turn signal switch wire harness is readily available from most restoration retailers, but everything else will be difficult to find.
@CamaroRestoration7 сағат бұрын
The bearing can be found, but not new. You would have to find a used one. The plate, bolts and springs are not even found on line. You may have to purchase a complete rebuilt steering column on line. If you do a deep search in Ebay, you can find steering columns and may have peace everything together or pay the cash for a complete rebuild.

Any vids on rebuilding that unit or pump for one? Thanks
@CamaroRestorationКүн бұрын
@davidbrown-55 no, I replaced this wiper motor a long time ago and it's not original so there was no reason to rebuild it. The pump is original and hope it still works when I fire it up. Go to www.camaros.net/forums/ and there should be some forum discussion on the rebuilds.

Very gd videos. What finish is your e brake assembly and where does the wire come from? Thanks again
@CamaroRestoration3 күн бұрын
@davidbrown-55 that wire and switch is for the parking brake light on the instrument panel. The wire should be part of the main dash wire harness. I can post the electrical page of the AIM if you wish. As for the finish, the parking brake assembly should be bare metal with only the foot lever painted a satin or semigloss paint. I did a very unconventional thing and coated the body of the brake assembly with a liquid graphite since it was bare metal. I did this since there are lots of moving parts and didn't want it to rust over. That's why it has a softer mat black color.

hey! im currently sandblasting my '67 before that whenever I hooked up the battery ignition coil got very hot and battery terminals were hot red and few batteries died that way. I ordered new ignition coil, but is there something else that might've caused that?
@CamaroRestoration10 күн бұрын
@Memphis-15bs your question is just out of my relem of knowledge, but sounds like wireling issues. I would trace back to all your grounds to make sure you have solid connections and check your wires. You may have some damaged or corroded wires that are getting hot or even connections. Even cheap fixes with underrated wires or poor connections can cause a problem. Look for voltage drops too. Need to find out too if it gets hot with just the ignition is on or when Camaro is running. Do some tests and poke around.

Wanted to know how to remove it! Thanks!
@CamaroRestoration10 күн бұрын
@GigaChadFarfour-fr7vr same process in reverse. In order to remove the knob, need to push in the button on the side of the switch housing. The knob and the rod come out as one peice. The first part on the video explains the button location. Just have to reach in, push the button, hold it down and pull out the knob. You may have to giggle the button and knob due to its age, but should come out. Then unscrew the retainer ring at the dash. The plug will be a pain to remove from the switch, so make sure you can see what you're doing under the dash.

@g-man-uz3gx make sure your wiper arms are on properly. Take the arms off and mark the shaft with a pen in the direction you think the arms should face. Turn on the wipers and watch how they rotate. Try this a couple times and put wipers back on in the direction you seem to work best.

Oh and I just installed a new heater delete firewall and will be putting in vintage air. Going for a decent driver car with an 80s hot rod vibe. @davidbrown-55 my kit also had the rubber washers, but I didn't use them. The assembly manual doesn't have any washers except for the bottom right between the box and firewall (split washer) Not sure why, but I think it's there to prevent over tightening and smashing out the sealant.
