I knew I recognized your voice! Listening to this video again this morning and I caught it, Glad to see you're still uploading You had some of the better videos on this SDR stuff that I've watched over the years. Guess I'll give this trunk in another freaking try when I get home today.thanks!

All right why does everybody on KZbin have these videos that make it look so damn easy lol. I cannot get this damn application to work If somebody held a gun to my head I could not get it to work. I imported just like that but I get no signal I get signals in my radio waves but in the boxes where yours is blue and it shows you it's picking up a talk group or a channel nothing is there just says my SDR my two receivers and it will say locked or unlocked. I've seen other videos where people have to actually go into the DSD plus files no sorry the SDR trunk files and right lines of code telling it what frequencies to look for There's so many different videos. There are a few that are like yours where it's click and play but I cannot get that to work Windows 11 plenty powerful laptop two different SDRs one version three one version 5 I've done a whole bunch of stuff with the SDRs over the past few years but I cannot get this damn trunking down😂

Did you do the subscription to Radio Reference? It's INVALUABLE to getting it set up correctly!! Just do it ONE TIME, and after it's working you don't need to do it again. I was yanking my hair out until I did that and let it import from RR..

@@mikeh8416 YUP! i did and there's something off with the playlist portion too. everytime i make a channel and add to my alias list it never appears in the alias. i almost had it working today LOL i was hearing voice on my towns p25 system. it was in and out so im getting close. it drives me nuts cause all these videos making it look like click and play and it's bull$hit. no way these people are getting it going in 5 -10 minutes.

@@TRUMP_WAS_RIGHT_ABOUT_EVRYTHNG What are you using for an antenna? Yeah, it took me a couple weeks to get it figured out, so 15 minutes is usually someone who's ALREADY yanked out all their hair, and showing the end results of how it worked. I've had a couple SDR programs that within a couple seconds of deciding to give up started working and I still don't know how! Right now I'm trying to figure out why my "virtual cable" isn't working on SDR Console. It worked fine, and I was getting NOAA satellites, but quit doing it for a while. I wanted to get a satellite image last week and started getting errors with the decoder not getting input from the virtual cable.

Not exactly "Free". You do need at least 2 SDR dongles, but for under $100 compared to $700 basic P25 scanners on the market, it IS the way to go!!

There are a lot of people that have done the SDR trunk with one dongle I think it all depends on what system you're trying to listen to most of the dongles can cover up to 2.8 or three megahertz as long as the system you're listening to doesn't fall outside that you can listen with one dongle.

@@TRUMP_WAS_RIGHT_ABOUT_EVRYTHNG If you're in a small county and not near a big city, you can USUALLY get away with one until SHTF. During a major disaster where virtually all of your emergency services are in full swing that bandwidth can increase to the full amount they were slotted by the FCC. I believe that's around 6 Mhz, which ONE won't cover. You CAN get away with using ONE even in a larger area, but you'll end up with a lot of "Tuner Not Available" errors when your dongle is locked on one frequency and a call comes in outside it's range.
