@@Ganaedwards1990 I’m on Dunlop and I just did a track day there. The R8 (“medium plus”) had no grip. The R5 (“soft”) tore up in two sessions. So I think I’m gonna go with the R7 this weekend, which, I think, is the equivalent of Perelli SC2.

Yeah NCM is an exhausting track, I'm never in good enough shape. This is my brother on the R1 and he rides his peloton all winter, and his mountain bike and road bike all summer. For me its just the mountain biking ;)

Looking good my friend 👍try to tighten up on the entry a little bit . That way as you try to push your lap times . You will have room to run wide if need be . Still can’t believe those stick welds held up on his bike 😂

Yes sir I did . I usually tell people that if you fix the lines and gas / braking points . Then faster times will follow . Don’t just tell yourself to go faster or crash trying 😂

My first ever track day was at NCM on that day. I had heard someone had a crash and their bike had burned down on the first session on the first day of the season. Glad he's alright, but man that must feel bad.

not bad! my first bike was a xr70 and i rode directly into my parents fence the first time i rode it. honestly wouldnt mind picking up a early 2000s cr250 2 stroke for like a grand or so, just no more 4 strokes idk if you remember my yzf250 but it blew up day 3 of owning it lol

See if you can find a good riding coach who can help you out, this will accelerate learning the track quite a bit just having someone to follow. Also note that lines in novice will be different!

@@Ganaedwards1990 I have been practicing form for a little while and have a solid understanding of racing lines in general. I've got a good friend I'm going with (novice class too) thats been there at least 8 times. Got to go with him the end of July and check it out. Can't wait, and thank you for the tip. Hopefully run into you at some point.

This is my brothers video just shot on a GoPro hero 7 I believe. No external mic mounted on the front fairing. I think the audio is terrible! External mic is just more to worry about at a track day.

Looked awesome before you lost the front tire though 👍 we all wreck , best part is that you usually get faster after wrecking. I went from 1:59 pb to a 1:57 after wrecking my gsxr1000r at ncm last year

One can hope! It definitely shook my confidence in terms of corner speed and getting on the throttle for the weekend. My data showed I was very light on the gas when I lost it and the video shows the track conditions. Looking forward to next time and running up with you and Luke again. Going to try and fit another trip down in the fall.

Nice lap! Sub 2:30 in trackday traffic is pretty good. Roll off closer to the end of the pit wall, esp if you didn't get a good drive out of 14.

Thanks, yeah I totally got lazy on the brakes after getting ahead of the final road block 😉. I also fixed my issue of not having full gas prior to t5 braking and not having full gas all the way through kettle bottoms on day two. My corner speed dropped day two tho for some reason and I didn't make progress in terms of lap time. I'll blame it on with tires.

Hey thanks! I didn't make it down for this event so this is my brothers footage. I used race render and created a custom graphic and scripting to create the motogp overlay. (Aka don't buy race render for this specific overlay as it's custom) Also used some other software to calculate lean angle from the go pro data so that part isn't super accurate.

Thanks don't watch my lines too closely or you'll run them just as badly! There is one corner here "deception" that most people take incorrectly and it allows you to kill them with the drive out.

I agree ! Most try too to go super fast after deception. Causing them to run wide on the next left going towards table top . Then I casually swing in through the inside and power right past them 😎
