IPPON NO ONGAKU (The One Piece of Music) / KAZUHITO MURATA Lyrics; YOSHIHIKO ANDO, Music Composed by KAZUHITO MURATA Arranged and Produced by TATSURO YAMASHITA Released as a single on March 25, 1983 Included on his 2nd album "HITO KAKERA no NATSU" June 25, 1983 (All songs Arranged and Produced by Tatsuro Yamashita) (English translation of the rough meaning of the Japanese lyrics) Turning around, the border town behind me looks like a distant mirage that will disappear When I feel the wind, I'm just flying away...... I always carry your favorite song in my pocket This one piece of music (IPPON no ONGAKU) is my passport to go travel Listen to this music, and let go of the hassle I felt until yesterday. The scent of the city fading away feels like the lingering scent of the summer I spent with you. I`m going to keep on chasing my dream, I'm just like a rolling stone...... I always carry your favorite song in my pocket This one piece of music (IPPON no ONGAKU) speaks to me Time is like the wind, if I stop, it passes me by without mercy Sometimes we two of us hurt each other's feelings. I always carry your favorite song in my pocket. This one piece of music (IPPON no ONGAKU) is my passport to go travel Listen to this music, and let go of the hassle I felt until yesterday. Let it go! Let it go! /Original Musicians Vocals: KAZUHITO MURATA Electric Guitar, Acoustic Guitar: TATSURO YAMASHITA Drums: JUN AOYAMA Bass: KOHKI ITO Electric Guitar (solo): KEISUKE YAMAMOTO Hammond Organ: TATSURO YAMASHITA Acoustic Piano: YASUHARU NAKANISHI Percussion: TATSURO YAMASHITA Chorus: TATSURO YAMASHITA, KAZUHITO MURATA

The Monkees are my all time favorite group. Great cover, nice to see their songs getting some love.
The Monkees song wasn't really a joyful song. It's a song about how Carol King was wanting to return to the city because she was fed up with living in the suburbs and the way the people behaved.
