What about those who did not know Jesus Messiah ? I have heard catholic teachings saying that those people will be going to heaven if their deeds were good and out of love, and those people will meet Christ when dying. So billions of people never eat “bread” and drink “wine” but God will make them happy and going to heaven. When is the resurrection of the bodies going to happen? Before one goes to Heaven? Or after?

That's very well explained. It's all about being merciful to others as He is merciful with us as in the Lord's Prayer. Also let your mercy flow from God to you and share to others. Otherwise, it won't work on you. And that's why we say this after the Lord's Prayer

Why is it important that He remembers us but we disobey His command to remember His NAME? I didnt hear you esteem, remember or proclaim His name. YHWH, pronounced YAHweh, YAHuah, or YAHwah, not Jehovah, Lord, God or any of the other 1000 descriptions not names. We want our name written in the book of life but we don't consider His name as we talk amongst each other. He cursed the scribes and pharisees for causing His people to forget His name. ☝🏾🚨👀 Read the whole book and focus on His name. Please do another video and focus on His name this time. Word.

I was wondering if there was any clue to Mephibosheth's actions when scripture describes that "he had neither cared for his feet,n or trimmed his mustache, nor washed his clothes, from the day the king departed until the day he came home in peace." ( vs 24) It seems as though he was not making any movement either way as though he was "fasting" even from care for himself until the kingdom matter was settled between the rightful King, David, and the rebellion by Absalom.

David is such a great example of how to respond to God in each situation. Even in these difficult excruciatingly painful and sorrowful times -- when his own son rises up to remove him from his God-anointed position -- he acknowledges God's sovereignty and authority. God raised him up and God can take him down, if He so chooses. That is absolute trust in God.

I believe that the reason that speaking in " tongues" was the first evidence that a believer recieved the Holy Spirit is noted in Acts among different groups of people is the Words' way of letting us know that regardless of a difference of people's recieving the Holy Spirit all people should expect the speaking in " tongues" as confirmation that they have recieved.

“Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it. And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, administrating, and various kinds of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? Do all possess gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? But earnestly desire the higher gifts. And I will show you a still more excellent way.” 1 Corinthians 12:27-31 ESV I encourage you to study 1 Corinthians 12-13 for context.
@robertnieten72592 жыл бұрын
@@livingstonesbibledevotiona2813 one thing to note is that speaking in tongues as the first evidence that a believer has recieved the Holy Spirit and their private prayer language does not qualify to be what Paul refers to as one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit because it only edifys the speaker. Paul said that the purpose of the gifts of the Holy Spirit was to edify " withal", everyone. The gift of speaking in " tongues" is always to be accompanied by a believer with the gift of interpretation of tongues in order to benefit a church assembly. Thus the gifts not everyone has unless the Lord specifically gives them that gift ,but the initial evidence and prayer language every believer has as the result of recieving the Holy Spirit.

“Meanwhile back at the ranch…” I remember so well this phrase used in the old movies to tell us that something was happening elsewhere (usually back at the ranch) during the events we had just watched. The unraveling of David and everyone around him is astounding and difficult to watch but it is what happens when sin reigns. You’ve rightly titled this section “David’s Head.” David’s thinking is messed up, ruled by his own lust-filled desires, he leads God’s people into destructive behavior. It is easy to see in someone else but hard to see in myself. It has been with reluctance that I have faced my own sin and the destruction it has caused in my life and the lives of others--to look on it and admit that it was my own choices and not blame it on anyone else is gut wrenching. It is interesting that God wanted to include the weight of the crown here. When I imagine David putting that crown on his head and feeling the weight, it must have been spectacular-75 lbs on his head. I wonder how many times in the days and years past that event that David felt that weight on his head and realized the enormity of the sins he had committed. What was so spectacular in earthly material stuff was exponentially more in the weight of the sin committed against the LORD. This is a stark physical reminder of the spiritual. I am thankful for God’s mercy and His provision of forgiveness. Then I also need His comfort and teaching and love to recover from the guilt and shame that comes from time to time when I am reminded of the past. I need to remember the lesson from the earlier passage of David’s reaction to the death of his and Bathsheba’s child. He prepared himself and went into the house of the LORD and worshiped--a repentant and humble action.

Is fasting and prayers the only way to hear the voice of God or is having faith in God the only way
@livingstonesbibledevotiona28132 жыл бұрын
The primary way we hear the voice of God is through reading and obeying His word. We are taught in 2 Tim:16-17 "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work." You can and should earnestly pray and fast asking that God would grant you wisdom to understand His word, faith to believe it and strength to obey it.

Thank you for explaining the 'lame and blind' comments. I didn't understand it at first reading. The explanation makes sense. I am struck with David's willingness to wait on God's timing up to this point. I haven't found any clear reference to David's age when Samuel anointed him king. But from soon after his anointing until he is anointed King over the whole kingdom by the people (more than 10 years), David did not pursue to take hold of the promise of his anointing. He waited for God to give him the throne. This patience, longsuffering and willingness to honor the current king on the throne is such an amazing trait.

This is such a good lesson and teaching about how I should view our leaders in light of our world today. It is so easy to get caught up in the common and worldly expressions especially when I don’t agree with policy. I want to be sure to remember that God is sovereign even in the chaos and treachery of the world we live in. I need to be patient, trust that God will take action and I should move within His will.

When Abner spoke the words in verse 21 to David that he 'may be king over all that your soul desires', my mind went to the temptation of Christ and the tactic that 'the tempter', 'the devil' used in Matthew 4:8-11. The devil offered all the kingdoms of the world and their glory if Jesus would bow and worship him. The tactics don't change. The statement you made in your prayer is very powerful, "God, we bow before You; saved by You, from You, and gathered to You, through the work of Your Son." I say, thank you God!

David’s faith in God is very moving. His words are persuasive to anyone longing to be right with God and anyone fearing their future. God is the only hope David had and God is the only hope I have. His focus on God is an example I want to follow. Our environment clangs and crashes daily attempting to persuade the world’s inhabitants to listen. If I listen to that noise I become confused and afraid. When I listen to God (His scriptures), my mind is cleared of the lies and I am given peace. I understand more and more why my mom’s favorite verse was I Peter 5:7. I also like that whole passage (vss 6-11). Thank you for continuing your faithful study and sharing these devotionals with us. “Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you. Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world. After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you. To Him be dominion forever and ever. Amen.” 1 Peter 5:6-11 NASB1995

"For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but the sorrow of the world produces death." II Corinthians 7:10 I don’t know what it must have been like for David to be literally running and hiding to keep not only himself alive but also those with him. Saul had 3000 “chosen men from all of Israel” with him. I would not have come out of the cave to confront Saul at this time. It seems rather unsafe to say the least. But David truly did trust God, good or bad. This is the same assurance he showed when asking Israel’s army why they were letting the uncircumcised Philistine blaspheme Israel’s God. Even in trying to save his own life, David’s heart was still desirous of honoring God. He didn’t want to usurp God’s authority. I want to have that same kind of trust in God.
