As far as I know, runes had serious influence on English alphabet, but not exclusively. Greek and Latin were at English alphabet origins too

This was such a cool concept. The human chacters were essentually cyborgs without all the fancy hardware. This franchise had such awesome ideas and the scene from Neo waking up in the real world to when he goes into shock is possibly the best world building gut punch of any film I can think of. Really wish it was in a better state than it is now. It really deserved better.
