Bro, tune your reso on the snare to about 400hz. Then tune the top to whatever note you like. Your Snare is the only exception on the fifth/4th/equal rule. This will cause your snares to respond correctly, and keep your other drums from resonating your snare.

Yeah but what's the need for a MUSIC bus if you have a MIX bus to the main. Why not just a mix bus?
@heychrisgreen9 сағат бұрын
I will send every track except for the vocal tracks to a Music bus so I can make adjustments to the instruments without messing up the vocals.. usually just a fader move but you can also compress the music bus so the vocal sits on top more easily.. hope that makes sense 😅 not 100% necessary but it’s handy when you need it
@Dusty-Shades4 минут бұрын
@@heychrisgreen oh yeah that does make sense... so that separates the vocals more from the instruments. I'm making templates for final mixes and want to do it right. I watch a lot of videos and everyone does it a little different. Thanks for your response.

The problem with this approach is that the measuring device is time blind. So it can't tell the difference between reflections, coupling, or otherwise. This means that at best, it will tell you only what it hears at that point in space. The second part of the problem is that most issues CANNOT be solved by EQ. You can mask it at that single point in space, but it cannot solve the problem elsewhere. You truly need a time sensitive measuring sytem that can extrapolate, and show where the real issues are. SMAART is sold at its price point for a reason. It can tell you where you are having time related issues, so that you can negate the data. You have to work with truly linear systems for years to be able to hear what a linear system sounds like ( not as good as one would think ). With that experience, you can get away from relying on a SMAART rig, look at an RTA, and weed out reliable bits of data. Most of what you are seeing is bad data, so you have to hear what correlates. Unless you can hear the correlation, you can't fix it with EQ.

Hi, please i need help. When i try to register my audiobox it says the serial number isn’t valid, and my pc doesn’t recognise the audiobox
@heychrisgreen5 күн бұрын
Hmmm 🤔 Couple things it might be.. have you tried putting in the other numbers on your interface’s sticker tag? I believe there’s usually 2 sets of numbers.. next I’m wondering if you got the interface secondhand/used? Someone else might have already registered the interface on their account? The other confusing thing is that My.Presonus is different than Presonus.com Check both sites to see if you can register your interface. My Audiobox is not with me at the moment but next time I see it I can check the numbers. I am sorry I don’t work for Presonus but this might be worth an email to them. Good luck! 😁

It sound kinda lifeless, like a software instrument. It lacks a certain flow and natural organic sound. I get what you're doing, but it would be better advice to set up that guitar and practice the part.

Thanks for taking the time to make this video. Studio One seems over whelming to me but I like the way you showed each step. Was waiting for you to delete an effect off of a bus or channel but you covered a lot of ground to digest. Your speed was perfect and easy to follow. You made want to actually try to actually get into recording a complete song. Just curious how long you take on average to record and edit a typical song. I did not see you save periodically so I'm assuming that SONE will save automatically. Thanks again, I will definitely be going back to this video.
@heychrisgreen5 күн бұрын
Thank you! 🙏 Glad you enjoyed the video. Studio One does have an autosave feature and will also prompt you to save every time you close the program.. I would say each project is different but I’ve been spending less and less time on projects lately.. if we’re just recording one of my wife’s songs it’ll mostly be very minimal with piano or acoustic guitar.. she prefers that style so we make frequent use of presets and plugin chains that save time.. I’m also an old dinosaur so when we’re recording I’m trying to have a finished sound sooner than having a “fix it in the mix” mindset.. have fun recording! The best way to get better at it is to record and complete a song from beginning to end as much as you can 😁

I suggest using a pencil to adjust the filters on the back of the mic. Probably a little more gentle on the plastic than a screwdriver.

I would also recommend using the corner of a hatchet blade if neither is around 🪓 😅

I don't know why everyone defaults to the Cloudlifter. There are a many other companies that make in-line preamps, and they are cheaper and just as effective. I use the sE Dynamite. Not only is $100 instead of $150, but it has a more convenient shape for putting it right after the microphone in the signal path. If you don't want to get that one, there are plenty of other options. There are KZbin videos you can find by reputable channels where they test different in-line preamps. Most of them are just as quiet at the Cloudlifter and offer at least as much gain, if not more. The Cloudlifter was just the first one on the market. Anyway, the Shure SM7B rules and it's by far my favorite mic I own. It makes my vocals fit in a mix with very little effort.
@heychrisgreen6 күн бұрын
🤔 I like the cloudlifter because I’ve had it for years and it gets the job done.. I’m sure there’s alternatives that’ll do great but I can’t recommend what I havnt used. If I’m looking for another I will definitely give the SE Dynamite a gander 🙂

Hi I just have Presonus AudioBox iOne & software StudioLive32. how can I record? Thanks
@heychrisgreen7 күн бұрын
The mixer you have has a USB port on the back. I don’t have that mixer but we use a Behringer X32 at church and it has a similar design. You can create 32 input tracks within Studio One for your mixer.. most of the time you might just use channels one and two to record.. your mixer is much better off than your Audiobox but if you need the portability factor, the Audiobox will do just fine for mixing a song or just recording one channel at a time.. I’ll have to make some dedicated videos on mixers because it’s just a lot to cover over text.. hopefully that helps a little for now 😅

@heychrisgreen8 күн бұрын
Reinstalling Studio One is pretty simple if you aren’t using a lot of third party plugins and virtual instruments.. you’ll need to delete studio one from your applications folder to start with.. In your situation I would go into the settings for Studio One and just change the location of your song files and main drive.. I don’t have my computer with me at the moment but open S1 and go to Settings and Locations.. thanks for watching!

How do you keep your cpu usage in S1 low with 10-15 tracks. I have a great computer i7-14700kf 2TB SSD and 64GB ram and still having issues of up to 30-50% with multiple neural DSP plugins. Also I have a RME interface any help with totalmixfx?

Check out this video for some important settings Mastering Low Latency & Clean Audio in Presonus Studio One kzbin.info/www/bejne/aau0nYpqatiDZrM I pretty much always record at 48khz so if you’re at 96 or higher you can expect more strain on your computer. Your block size might need some adjusting as well. Your audio interface won’t have much of an impact unless you’re running plugins that use DSP like universal audio stuff.. the guitar sim plugins will often spike the cpu.. I use the Line 6 Helix plugin but usually I freeze my tracks once I have a guitar track sorted out. I’ve also heard it said that Studio One is notorious for not making use of multi-core processing.. you might want to demo a few other DAWs and see how they work with your system
