Hey, how hard could it be, there's just a valve for the burner and a rope for the vent <grin> And after 5000 plus hours.....yeh, some days are easier than others. Find a company with a good reputation (Ask, 'Have you had any accidents or incidents) research them on the internet....and GO, it is one of the really great adventures of a lifetime....and an awesome way to view the world. I've sailed the ocean on a boat I built myself...and found ballooning has many elements of true adventure. It is not Disneyland. I'm retired from flying now.....but it gave me some great memories...and some very fun times.

This is not a landing attempt, the pilot is just flying low.

Flying low gives you real feeling of flying. Flying high gives you "google maps". Try it once.

Actually if he wanted to land he wouldn't keep firing the burner. What he is doing is called "contour flying" where you just skim the surface. He actually is quite skilled at knowing just how much/how little to hit the burner to keep him from landing or from climbing back up high!

colleenutube1 Don't disagree with you at all!was implying the guy was skilled.

colleenutube1 Do you need to have a license to operate one? I want to buy one for my own personal use. Not a big one...probably the smallest one available. Also where would recommend purchasing one from? Cameron Balloons?
@Benthamchristmasligh9 жыл бұрын
quadassio I would imagine a license is essential. I'd do a search to see if there are any clubs near you or a national body for your country. They could probably advise where you can buy from too!

***** A CPL is of course what would help a pilot balloon for a living in other words it allows for a pilot 2 do those typical sightseeing romantic flights in early hours.
