Accidentally deleted my comment, Sorry. Great video of a place that should be on everyone's 'to visit' list. Is it possible to link me to the music used during the Courts of Hell segment. I wonder if statistics indicate that children were much better behaved after the tour...lol

We were only there for about a half day but that’s because we aren’t the types to stay at places for very long. You can easily spend the whole day there if you want. It al depends on how thorough you want to be. But anything more than a day is overkill in our opinion. Thanks for watching!

What a great trip down memory lane! I remember we were on the 10th floor of Elizabeth Towers. Is CK Tang still there and the Marriott skyscraper with the pagoda roof?
@Kenshirokan
@Kenshirokan 25 күн бұрын
CK Tang is still there, it’s one and the same building as the Marriott with the Pagoda Roof. Most of Orchard is different than what you’d probably remember. It’s changed a lot. We didn’t really spend much time there though since we weren’t too interested in shopping.

You should get her name and complain to the Singapore Tourism Board. It is not appropriate to ask for tips for a free tour.

We don't think it's necessary to out someone like that. Judging from the strangely few negative reviews I've seen on this company, this is a recurring theme and isn't an isolated incident. It apparently is an issue with other guides as well so it's really the company as a whole rather than just one individual. Also, this sort of practice may not bother some people. Our warning is hopefully enough. Thanks for watching!
@johnchua9387
@johnchua9387 26 күн бұрын
@Kenshirokan As a Singaporean, whether it is an individual or a company, this kind of behavior cannot be advocated or encouraged. It is neither the practice that the tourism board (STB) will encourage since it is labelled as free tour. Your reach is limited, so I suggest you should write to the STB to lodge a complaint so they are aware of it and can take the necessary action.

Heh, don't worry, video hardly has any views so the secret isn't out yet. Only the die hard value/quality seekers like yourself and us will ever go to this place. Most everyone else would consider it to be sub par-sushi and continue to stick with the over hyped ultra expensive sushi pop ups that are saturating Houston. Thanks for watching!

Yeah, we were very disappointed to say the least. I will look into submitting feedback. Don't get me wrong, our particular guide did have the knowledge, it was a combination of the blatant hustle for money as well as the unnecessary rambling on about topics not related to the tour itself that completely turned us off. The price for taxi is 50-60 lei.however, the driver charged me 162 lei. My friend was charged 300 lei. I am leaving today and learned the receipt I got from the taxi driver is fake one. These drivers do not care how visitors view people in Romania!
@Kenshirokan

That is unfortunate. But what you experienced with taxis is a world wide problem, not just limited to Romania. That is why we never used taxis. We always used either Grab or Uber where the fare is both shown and paid for through the app. Zero hassles. Thanks for watching!

Welcome to Singapore. You guys should visit more hawker centres for better and cheaper local food options instead of the food in the malls. Example, Encik Tan wanton mee is below average in my opinion. Only have it if there's no other options out there. Never ever choose mixed vegetable rice stall from food courts in shopping malls. They are overpriced for similar stuff you can get at fraction of the price in hawker centres and kopitiams.
@Kenshirokan
@Kenshirokan Ай бұрын
Yes, you are right on the hawker centers. I've pretty much been to them all but this particular trip we had to cram so much into to just 3 days that it was hard to hit every spot. Plus, it seemed like we were always full from the get go since there was just so much to eat. And the biggest thing for me was to be able to eat in comfort. Most of the best hawker centers are non-AC and being that we're not accustomed to the heat and humidity of Singapore we sort of stayed away from those. My personal favorite is eating at People's Park or Newton's Circle. But yeah, I definitely agree with you. Thanks for watching!
@kelcordeen8630
@kelcordeen8630 Ай бұрын
Yeah $13 for that plate of mixed vegetable rice obviously is a rip off. Food at orchard road tends to be priced higher but not $13. For something similar away from the city centre, it should cost abt $5-$7 for what you've ordered. If you noticed, most of the seafood eg....fish, prawns, crabs are highly priced at food outlets in Singapore.
@Kenshirokan
@Kenshirokan Ай бұрын
Yup, I know. I knew it right away when the guy was holding up a calculator to show me the price. That's something you expect when haggling for some electronics at Sim Lim Tower. Out of all the SEA countries we found Singaporeans to be the least friendly of the bunch. For whatever reason, people people there tend to be impatient and rude. Not always the case as we met a lot of very kind and helpful people as well but it was definitely more prevalent than other countries in the area. Hate to say it but its the truth that a lot of people don't want to admit.

@@Kenshirokan Just an insight, more than half of the Singapore population are now made up of foreign workers, foreigners taking up citizenship or Permanent residents due to the open door policy by the government. Perhaps, the unfriendly ones you encountered might be or might not be Singaporeans. 😅 Most of the F&B jobs are shunned by the locals and taken up by non-locals.

It is a tourist trap. The building is beautiful, but the quality of food is mediocre to low. It was tasty several years ago, but as the receipt grew, the food got worse and overpriced. The general attitude is "here! Taste some Romanian food, eat quick, clear the table, pay and get tf out!". The locals come for the interior and the interwar atmosphere, not for the food. That's why it's full.

Houston Livestock Rodeo BBQ Tasting (Rip-Off) One year my wife and I decided to check out what we believed was a sampling of the different BBQ from the rodeo. We paid the entry fee and walked into the area where row upon row of BBQ trailers were. We were all set to see what they had to offer. Disappointment came soon. Everyone of the BBQ wagons had a big sign “Private Party by Invitation Only”. We walked and walked going further into the line of BBQ wagons. Finally we came to one of Houston’s grocery stores that was giving samples. What did we get…. 1 piece of white bread, several slices of sausage and a little BBQ sauce on the bread. Talk about a rip off. Never again would I get suckered into the Houston BBQ Cook off. We could have taken the money we spent and went out to a nice BBQ place in town and enjoyed a meal.
@Kenshirokan
@Kenshirokan 4 ай бұрын
I feel for you. The entry tickets essentially make this particular weekend pretty much a bust if you don't have an invitation to any of the private parties. I'm fortunate enough to receive invitations to several tents through work each year but as the years have gone by the quality of the food has gone downhill. But in their defense, what you experienced is the norm and a little research prior to going and you would have figured that out. As we showed in our video, the entry ticket does include a BBQ plate that most don't realize. It's not anything great by any means but it is offered. We skipped out this year simply because we didn't feel like overall it was worth the $25 per person just to get into the grounds. It was $20 per person last year......really? A 25% increase in just a year?! So yeah, we agree, better to just skip the BBQ and visit the Rodeo any other time outside of that one specific weekend. Thanks for watching!

This last November on Black Friday's sale Lowe's had their Pit Boss 1150 smoker/cooker for $500 discount off their regular price. They even gave me FREE assembly and delivery. I have watched countless videos on using it and have a pretty good handle on what to do. I have cooked pork buts, chicken leg quarters, hamburgers, vegetables and pork roast. What we don't eat we vacuum seal it and put it in the freezer. I would imagine many people will be disappointed when they go into the BBQ cook-off and leave disappointed.@@Kenshirokan

We were lucky in that Olena’s cousin happened to be in Romania on vacation in the same area as we were at the same time! Completely coincidental and not planned at all. So lucky for us they had a car and that’s how we got from Bran to the Alpine coaster. I’m not for certain but I don’t think there are any buses from Bran to that area. If you ask around in Bran there might be shared rides to that area since it is a popular attraction. Or a local might be willing to take you out there for a nominal fee. That’s probably your best bet. Hope you have a fun trip! Thanks for watching!
