The funny thing about Crimson showing up is that he doesn't even kill her. Hell, she doesn't die at all (unless somehow a WSO was given a gun and sent to Persidia, which is unlikely.) She either suffers severe G-forces and blacks out for a time, or is on an airfield somewhere wondering what's taking Monarch so long.

I cooked up a fanfic that's based on this animation lol :P It was a very cold morning that day. Monarch woke up, it had been a while since he used his old Sukhoi SK-34 "Fullback-E" in combat. He was not that tired, but he still had work to do. Monarch felt a light touch on his hand. It was his WSO, Robin. Here, her callsign "Prez" was fitting. She looked out for her allies, just like any President would. Monarch and Prez were close friends since 9th grade, so this was common with her. The young girl looked at Monarch, staring into his dark green eyes. "Hey... umm, Monarch?" Prez said, in a worried tone. "What is it Robin?" Monarch replied. "This deal you made with Stardust; I just think it's too much power." Prez said, knowing that Sicario would get access to shelter and protection here in Cascadia. "It's just, not like us." Prez continued. She took off her helmet, knowing that the cabin was pressurized due to the long flight ahead. "I just wanted to say, I'm still with you though, Promise?" Prez said. "Don't worry, everything's going to be ok..." Monarch said. "I won't let anything bad happen to you, I promise." It had been months since that conversation happened. Monarch looked out the window at the scorched earth that was Presidia. "Monarch, Mon, buddy?" "You, ok?" Prez said looking at Monarch from her hospital bed. She was there because of a brain injury she sustained while in G-loc. "Yeah, I am..." Monarch said, with a half-worried expression on his face. Then, he saw him. In his mind, the Late Crimson 1 said what he told Monarch at Presidia. "When you hear the thunder, when the storm comes for you... Remember me." He heard in his mind. Monarch snapped out of it. Monarch saw Prez looking at him. "Don't worry Mon, he's gone..." Prez said, trying to cheer Monarch up. "I know, but he's still haunting me..." Monarch replied. "I did this to you... I hurt you." "I'm so sorry, I should have been more careful." Monarch continued, welling up in tears as he talked. Prez got out of bed, sat next to him, and wrapped her arms around him. "It's ok Monarch, I promise that nothing bad will happen from now on." Prez said. Every time Prez spoke, It gave Monarch butterflies in his stomach. Monarch then wanted to just tell her; tell her the thing he had been holding back since they first met back in 9th grade. "Robin, I just wanted to tell you this." "I... I... I lo..." Monarch stuttered. "Just spit it out, idiot. I know you love me, and I do to." Prez said. She then grabbed the back of his neck and kissed him. Monarch blushed intensely when he realized that she did indeed kiss him. Monarch held the kiss, and they knew that now, they truly trusted each other, and beat the test of time. They knew that they would eventually start dating, but they held back because they were both shy to admit that they liked each other. So, from that day on, Monarch and Prez looked out for each other, like how a good couple would.
