There is a 4th ending. Shephard survives. The synthetics war against all flesh forms ceased. The origional team remains intact.. They will be back for #4.

They should've made ME4 instead of Andromeda, cuz there's a scene at the end of ME3 where Shepard survives if you choose to destroy. It'll be a massive game series like Final Fantasy but in space.

I was never bothered by these endings, people wanted "closure" for all the characters and a happy ending option, it doesn't have to always be like that, it's fine sometimes for the writers to leave it so you have to use your own imagination. Shephard dying in all 3 endings was very poignant to me, his story didn't need to go on more.

so why does merging make an entirely new character? and a hot android girl at that?

Lmao these endings are unbelievably bad. I'm happy my first playthrough was with Extended Cut after the endings were fixed.

9 years ago this shit was infuriating to many mass effect fans to the point that they more or less bullied the devs to add in a extra scene in the destroy ending that shepard is in a bunch of rubble and gives him a breath of what I call plot armor life (even though that's the ending of the game) just to please the fans because of them wanting to discontinue the shepard timeline and to focus on what I believe was the Andromeda title (correct me if I'm wrong) but even with the extra scene they kinda just put a bandaid on a BIG fucking wound and people were eh with it but the same thing happened with the dead space series they killed off the main character Isaac Clark in the third game and solidified it in the DLC awakened. Because they didn't want to keep Issac's story going anymore as Bioware didn't want Shepard's story to go on anymore as I think that happened is they ran out of ideas to keep the game new and interesting for both games

I'm Commander Shepard and this is my biggest disappointment on the Citadel

Well, if you think the endings were bad back then think there was barely any content there and other than Rannoch or Tuchanka the game story was linear.

I'm surprised people are shocked in a video game with 3 different endings, with 3 games where you only have 3 dialogue choices to progress. Good neutral and Bad.

This game gives me Stockholm Syndrome bad, but it's still one of my favorites and I still play it all the time. Makes me sad the ending was so.... Unfulfilling.

This just shows how rushed the original ending was; it's very confounding that they didn't even include the love interest as one of the flashbacks.

My first play through I somehow managed to kill every one, when the Normandy hatch starts to crack open it stops and no one come out!

When I first beat it, I thought the control ending was interesting. …..until I found out the other two ending were exactly the same more or less. I was hoping the renegade ending would have led to like a galactic civil war due to how the races were exploited

Wouldn't the krogan take over the milky way galaxy since they are fertile and can't get back to tachunka? The quarians would never see the homeworld again. When u destroyed a mass effect dohickey in batarian space it leveled a galaxy but you blew them all up and nothing died.

Neither one of them was the good ending If you did everything right In mass effect 2 And saved everybody from the suicide mission including your crew and also did all the DLC’s For 2 and 3 He would’ve got the good ending with extended cuts and your Ship Wouldn’t crash and everybody would’ve came out the ship For all three endings js

i actually prefer this cause i couldve sworn the endings were kill the reapers and everything else in the universe kill the reapers but also all your friends and just kill the reapers but it requires mass amounts of reputation and correct choices and everything must be perfected in a certain way just to get the good ending.

Though the merge ending is hated on by most people, I enjoy seeing it because of the moment joker and EDI have
