Why not continue this series? Or just want to test out to see how many that can be useful for starter? Just asking though. I'm really enjoying how you play this game. Even though I'm not playing it.
@wrsr-illyria9 күн бұрын
Correct. It is a test which industries are best to start with. There are regularly questions in forums, how to start to make enough money, and not go bankrupt - Simply, what the best industry is to begin with. The nuclear version is the third I tried out in this series. Two others are already tested (and recorded). I think two more are possible to make enough money to have a stable foundation. After this I think I'll start a new series.

I would consider asphalting more roads. Especially long stretches of road. Not for speed but fuel consumption.
@wrsr-illyria16 күн бұрын
This is only usefull if the vehicles are faster than 60 km/h (max speed on gravel roads). And the save of fuel consumtion is not that high. But sure in some other test scenarios I did more asphalting of roads ;)

After this gameplay the previous progress will be lost?
@wrsr-illyria28 күн бұрын
Yes. With this test I simply want to figure out how long (and if possible at all) to make enough money with different first industries and have a stable first town with high enough loyality. And I am curious of the money potential each industry will deliver (are there problems with import/export prices and so on).

Why you don't build sport fields and other leisure structures?
@wrsr-illyriaАй бұрын
Why should I? The indoor pool will cover the sports requirements even in winter. More carousels are useless because they belong to the same type of attraction I already have. In next episode I build a museum just as alternative. But its not that important to reduce the complains to zero ;-)
@giuseppecare75Ай бұрын
@wrsr-illyria Maybe they are useful to increase happiness and and the aesthetics of the town. Furthermore, I advise you to buy another one or two cars for police forces. Anyway, congratulations for your management skills.
@wrsr-illyriaАй бұрын
@@giuseppecare75 Yes, I agree, It is more for the aesthetics to not build the same over and over again. Happiness if its a different type of attraction, but this is only a minor effect, if all the main needs are fulfilled. I'm often doing things like that, if the final size of a town is reached or there are other reasons (like tourism). About the police cars: no need for more. The limiting factor are the number of cases handled in parallel. Sure reducing the cars does not make it better, because the cases chance to solve starts with the moment the crime happen and not when its collected by a police car. But when your police station is overrun you simply need more officers or more police stations. Full police cars always results in police car is staying in the police station most of the time. And one officer can handle only one case at a time. 50% police cars based on available slots is for me the number that worked all the time so far. But maybe you have some more insights?
@giuseppecare75Ай бұрын
@@wrsr-illyria Got it, I understand. I am waiting for the completion to asphalt roads and foothpaths. I understand that with no energy production street illumination is quite impossibile but i hope in the future this issue will be solved. Lastly, try to implement road signs such as speed limits, one ways, etc. and maybe upgrade secret police service: the republic needs extremely loyal citizens. Thank you for your time.

I used your Husak challenge series and Best Practices videos to build my first, honest to Lenin, profitable republic in hard realistic with no loans. I'm glad you're doing this experiment, since I want to redo everything but with better planning for scalable industry input/throughput/output. I'd like to switch to train-based logistics as soon as possible, but I don't what's the population/income threshold to start building, because it's *expensive*, but hopefully I'll learn something new from this new series. Cheers, and keep up the good work!

this is suppose to be a guide in the start of a husak challenge or just a regular realistic difficulty?
@wrsr-illyriaАй бұрын
Just regular realistic difficulty, because most of the industries I plan to test would break the rules of the husak challenge. And already at this point with the easy map, waste export and not limited import of prefabs the rules are already broken.

So, if I understand it correctly, orphanages only function is to churn out subpar citizens, therefore the best "use" for the building when you're forced to build it is to produce westernized youth that'll escape the republic after failing to say who Lenin was at every city hall exam. Nice. I've been following the whole series so far, and after trains I noticed a sharp uptick in money making. I guess that after certain level of autarchy, money becomes just a number on the screen. Nice content, as always
@wrsr-illyriaАй бұрын
Sry for this late answer. Could not even see your comment with wrong sorting selected ... Yes, thats the way to work with orphanages, if you really "want" this in your republic ;-) And sure money is normally not a really issue after a certain point of development in your republic.

FYI: I tested tundra biome with farm setting and figured out, that even with 200% fertility the amount of crops you'll get is limited to 30% of a normal biome. With a setup of 6 tractors (CS-1270), 3 harvesters (E512) and 3 KMZ and 3 medium, 6 big fields I could harvest pretty much everything but got only 1.225t of crops (theoretically 4.200t). I'd say farming in such a biome is pretty useless. And import of crops the best option.

@@comradeSirius I am not a huge fan. Lot of limits (e.g. not crossing of streets, no signals causing collisions - but this I also happen here with trains). But the above ground versions are looking good and it gives some variety in transportation. In my large republic @bballjo reviewed, I had a metro below a mountain to one of my electronic industries. It was worse than the insane heating pipe to build - deep down in the mountain. It took ages.
