United States of Japan was a very good setup for great world-building, but Mecha Samurai Empire and Cyber Shogun Revolution are the real MVPs of the trilogy. That and I'm seeing quite a bit of Patlabor mixed with Dougram with the mecha designs.

....it's truly unbelievable, the amount of "self-importance" she possess. She's not even in the movie. It's animated and only her voice. Someone please explain this to me ???

These 2 superb actors , played their sharp , cunning & ruthless characters so well. Whole cast excellent , the show did lose it's way a bit towards the end , but otherwise very good overall.

Part of me takes issue with Joel de La Fuente's statement of the 'Accidental Immigrant.' I take issue with it because of this video: Why the Japanese were the most DYSFUNCTIONAL Force in WW2 kzbin.info/www/bejne/pZS4h2uGnNRlaLs [ In the 1930s, the Imperial Japanese Army was overcome by an idea called “Gekokujo.” ... its closest approximation is “insubordination” or “domination of a senior by a junior.” Imperial Japan is seen as fiercely hierarchical, and to some degree it was, but that didn’t stop lower-grade officers from pursuing their own goals instead of supporting their government’s.] This is something we see (more or less) in the series. Additionally, [according to a removed character bio on Amazon X-Ray] Kido was born in 1917 and was 13-years-old when he ran away joined the Imperial Japanese Army---to escape his life as the son of a poor tenant farmer. After spending several tours in China, he climbed the social ladder, got married in 1950 and had two boys. Shortly thereafter, he was sent to the United States. In that way, Joel de La Fuente's is right by calling Kido something of the 'Accidental Immigrant.' It's just complicated.

De Le Fuente could really pass as Japanese. I have family on both sides and can tell you if stepped foot in Narita Airport, people would assume he could speak the language. Honestly had zero clue he was a Filipino American.

Love Rufus Sewell! An underrated, unappreciated and casted mainly as a villain in American movies but this guy is really a brilliant, awesome great actor. I became a fan when I watched Man in the High Castle, every scene of his was captivating and really great acting. This actor needs more movies and tv shows!

Always love to hear Phil talk about his books as he clearly loves what he does and is always very open with his fans. I can recall years ago picking up some of his first stuff and living that someone gave the same little touches to the faces of characters that made them more alive like George did with his art. Some friends teased me about my fanboy joy of ‘ George Light’. Slowly I got them to see that Phil gave little touches here and there that was different than George and unique. When Phil came to Wonder Woman I was over the moon. And his writing impressed me as much as his art. The only reason I returned to collecting some DC after new 52 was that I saw he was doing Superwoman and I was blown away by it!
