I dont understand what William is asking the bruce to accomplish. I believe hes saying the north and south being united. But he knows they CANT. At his knighting ceremony the north and south are fighting over who the true successor is, and they dont support Roberts claim to the throne. How can he if they dont see him as the true king? If anything, the Southerners would.. friendly fire opps!

If the English were like the rest of the world… this film would have been cancelled a long , long time ago. They call Edward a Pagan … :) Firstly he wasn’t… secondly if he was ( which he definitely wasn’t ) paganist religions existed in England before Christianity which was the colonisers ( romans ) religion… colonisers are bad no? ( they aren’t either I’m playing up to woke ideology, British Colonial rule in Nigeria banned the Slave Trade of the Osa people that existed in Nigeria for centuries before European arrival ) So William Wallace is the Christian and Edward the Pagan… although Wallace never went on any crusades and Edward did ( obviously in the cloak of Christianity) Think about how offensive this is really to his story and the history of the English. All the English soldiers in it also! :) But do we care? Not at all. It’s a funny movie.

Idk about how you all feel but when Wallace says basically the goal is to have "a country of our own." Essentially a dream of something he never thought was possible. His fight and grit reminds me of my(our) own daily battle to have the life I want in building Something greater.

Bruce was a troubled man during Wallace’s life. His father did have a very legitimate claim to the throne but had lost out to John Balliol. The family had lands on both sides of the border and like many of the Scottish nobles, they switched sides more than once. The situation isn’t that clear cut though and there is a theory that Bruce was just playing the long game. He knew that Scotland would never be at peace with Balliol as King so was biding his time until the Bruce faction could swoop in. What he definitely didn’t do was betray William Wallace who was actually captured near Robroyston by a man called John Menteith.

Braveheart, when the ‘nobles’ betray William Wallace and in the end they still have to fight, alone. Freedom ! … is all the Ukrainian youth wanted. When they stood up on Maidan, when they voted for this ‘actor’ (son of academic parents) who had been playing in this series on television where he plays an unknown getting elected for President and gets confronted with all the diseases in ‘their’ society. These young people are fighting for a dream and they gave him trust to do what’s right and stand up for his and their values … FREEDOM !
