That’s normally what they use for takeoff, maybe just a tad bit higher than usual 😉

I have to admit I have never had a bad flight on one. Now 3.disclaimers: 1. My dad was a 727 pilot for UAL. Go back to the old logo. 2. I even had 2 good flights in i believe it was. 1D facing backward. 3. It still sounds like a leaf blower at T/O power. 😁

No auto - pilot on that approach ! Throttles , yoke , & rudder - Nice and coordinated . Smooth -

My dad worked for Wisconsin Central, North Central, Republic and then Northwest. The DC-9 was so iconic. I just wish when people show aircraft they would always make a point to catch the registration number.

@jonahair7479 күн бұрын
The older, the better. You should see what happens behind the scenes with these new modern pieces of junk we have now… if you knew, you’d be begging to fly on a 30yr old airplane instead… the airlines choose quantity over quality these days. Keep that in mind. There’s a reason that DC-9’s, MD-80’s & 727’s are still flying for cargo in the US! They’re built to last. The classics are nothing like the garbage we have now.

I miss these MDs. I remember summer 2018, I was 10 years old and every day I would go into my front yard and film jets all day and it seemed like MD-88s and 90s made up 85% of the traffic into ATL.

@ I’ll never forget when I missed the last MD-88 landing in ATL. I was waiting outside for a long time, and it turned out they turned onto a really short final approach, so it was out of sight from my house behind trees and buildings.

MD 80's are a special type of aircraft from my understanding. It's aerodynamics are one of a kind. It's tail wing and rear engines particularly genius. It's a work horse and will never be forgotten from my experiences traveling. Onward 🌈 to blue skies and adventure.

Filmed long before the pandemic, if you used the phrases "Covid 19" or "Social distancing" or mandatory face masks when using public transportation at the time, people would think you crazy! Good catch on that retro Continental aircraft during takeoff! Too bad the clouds obscured the lake during the climb.
