I wouldn’t be surprised if this is thanks to Wheel Pro’s running the company into the ground and filing for bankruptcy so they have to sell all of the assets 😢

I thought it was based on a 1955 Lincoln Futura?
@jeffsiegel4879Күн бұрын
He said that it #2 and 3 Batmobiles were made in fiberglass from the original by Barris. They needed a couple of extra cars when they made the show. Watch it again and listen!
@cdncitizen47006 сағат бұрын
Only ONE Lincoln Futura concept car was ever made (in 1955), then it sat around decaying until George Barris bought it when he was commissioned to make a Batmobile for the 1966 TV show. ... THAT original concept car was then customized into the ORIGINAL Batmobile #1 by Barris. Batmobile #2 and #3 were essentially fibreglass bodies MADE from molds cast off the original #1 steel based car... and then bolted onto other Ford chassis. They needed several cars for filming and for promotions! In fact, I believe there was an original #4 car as well, used mostly for promos at the time.

@@jeffsiegel4879 Do you know which one had no doors?? Saw George Barris at a car show way back in 1983.
@jeffsiegel48796 сағат бұрын
@@kitt2000car I think they all had doors. Batman just didn't use them! George's shop was in our area and I knew Tony (Anthony) Wood, who is referenced in the video. He was George's assistant and a well-known hot-rodder himself. My office was across the street from George's shop. There is an ARCO gas station in at the corner and one day I was filling up there and noticed the Batmobile was on the other side at another island of the station filling up. At my island was a tourist (Universal Studios was 1/2 mile down the street) filling up a rental car. I asked the guy if he'd ever seen the TV show and then told him to turn around and look. He almost fainted!

The '63 is one is my favorites. Love the way it looks but I prefer when someone either redoes or "customizes" these amazing vehicles that they at least try to keep it as original as possible. Nice for a "concept" car but I much prefer the CLASSICS. Always loved the split read window/windshield. Was riding in the back of mom's station wagon with my brothers one day when I couldn't have been much more than 3-4 and they were pointing out some of their favorite cars. Well, being big brothers they liked to tease me all the time. They asked me which was my favorite and we JUST SO HAPPENED to drive right by a Stingray! I don't know exactly what year but it had that split window/windshield I know that. I had NO idea what kind of car it was or how expensive or how rare.. I guess I was a very smart little girl. I remember that moment even now of my brothers being shocked that I pointed out a GREAT car. They got real quiet. lol The 60's.. what an era! Nice!

60s T-Birds are so underrated, people should be buyin em up right now cause they will be the next big thing eventually. I owned a 66 with a 351 Cleveland (that engine breathes baby) and a 69 with a 390 (the shaver haha) and both were like flying futuristic space ships, cool as hell.
