Thanks for the comments; as you can see from your own statements, everyone has different perspectives and perceptions of complexion shade and hair texture. I personally grew up thinking I was darker complexion because my grandmother was Caucasian and made me believe I was charcoal 😟 this episode was near and dear to my heart and I wish we could heal this nonsense. It’s not what’s on the outside but the inside that matters!!!

The whole college degree love is overrated. She was the only woman who belonged on a NFL pregame show. She was smart enough not to buy the your so beautifull hype. She just thought of herself as another person. She does now remind me of a black Lilly Munster.

11/24/24 - I just watched this a few hours ago! It's a great story with an extraordinary girl who defied the odds against a broken system! Such an unnecessary travesty! It made my heart break every time hers was broken.💔 The special bond she shared with her adopted mother was inspirational. I don't want to spoil the rest of this movie. I hope others watch it, especially in these dark times. She always was SOMEONE! 😢❤🤗🙏

Those places see so many kids its just lije Amazon they become just a number. Theres a special person that comes in and why is it better to be in a system instead of a inter racial family?

, the judge needs to be removed from the bench and that's social worker or whatever needs to be fired she needed a loving mother and a loving home and a supportive home and she had that with this white woman does it matter if you're black or white what matters is that a person that's adopting a child no matter what you love that child you sacrifice for the child you provide for the child and you nurture the child and make sure the child grows up to be a successful human being that's what we're talking about here a human being

Actually, I did like the movie and made me mad at the same time, giving these kids the medication, the messed up courts, and the black director, how they did not give this girl hope, the pyschiatrist, the nurses these kids don't stand a chance if they are all drugged up. It made me mad because my mom took me out of school so many times that I did fall behind, I wanted to be a doctor, I almost got my pilots license but my mom wouldn't let me she always told me I would amount to nothing. When I reached 18 years old the High School counselor said I would need to drop out I was too old, I told her I wanted to be a doctor and wanted to go to college, the counselor told me to work at McDonald's because that was all I would be able to do, that I would never be a doctor. I ended getting my GED, I took the SAT test failed it but tried to speak to the Dean at the University of Texas, the Dean told me to give it up I could not make it, so I looked at what was needed for pre-med bought my books okay so I was not enrolled, but attended the classes at least it prepared me for when I had children, I got married had a chance to go to nursing school but my husband would not let me. I struggled for years, by the time I was 50 years old I attended the University of Phoenix, got my associates in business management, this was the first time I ever graduated and walked to receive my degree. So these people failed Regina, but she had a dream, and Ms Kur gave her that hope.

I am 69 and cried through the whole movie. I worked in shelters and group homes for children and my heart was broken for these children. I went on to finish my Master’s program , after being a teacher of 20 years. Then I worked with children as a counselor in private practice. This movie has so reminded me of the great need for people who REALLY care about children. I’m so thankful that you remembered that someone truly loved you and never forgot it. God bless you in all you do.

The facility, all the workers, should have been arrested, and shut down, except for the brother. He seemed to be the only one who helped ger. He saved her from drowning. At least she exposed them in the movie. What an evill world

The part of the movie that really broke me was when she was given all those letters and cassette from miss kerr when she was let go by the children's center

Yes me too… it was bittersweet. She knew in her heart that they were withholding her letters. So horribly wicked of them to do that.

yep, that’s when i cried, they did such cruel and unusual acts of violence to her emotions by keeping that love from her

They still keep mothers from talking to their child. The state/ legal system is messed up!! They don’t think about the people that are likely suffering so much, …the children! I watched the movie last night and just saw this video. Regina is a beautiful and brilliant person! So much love to Regina and to the mother who adopted her!! ❤️❤️

I saw the movie twice and each time I cried through it. I'm so sorry that you lived through that, but I've learned that some people are born to be soldiers on the front line that others may learn and grow from. God Bless You, Sister. You are a sweet soul. I'am so happy about your successes, triumph, your victory in Christ. Thank You, Jesus. Thank You, Father God.
