Hi! Thank you so much for your lovely message. I'm glad to hear that you enjoy my videos and the things what I pick up. I wonder if you could find interesting old stuff in Australia. Do you have similar kind of flea markets there to the UK?
@bethanyh.9489Ай бұрын
@@retrocatkin-2754 yes we have many vintage and antique things in Australia. There are some markets that we call 'Trash and Treasure' markets that sell all sorts of things, in addition to vintage markets (not many though). Mostly people buy vintage and antiques in secondhand stores, vintage shops, and antique centres. I have my own online vintage shop, so I love seeing what they have in the UK. I love your particular interests and style, and I always try and guess what you will buy! I look forward to your next video!

@@bethanyh.9489 I see, you have your own business! Sounds like there are similar variations to find old stuff in Australia to the UK. I'd love to visit there to hunt treasure as well as to experience the wildlife and the nature😊 Anyway, I will carry on searching for things which make me feel "wow". I hope you enjoy it and find something which you feel curious about🌟
It's nice to see you again, Michiyo. The bottom of the watering can is convex because some water was left in it during the winter. The water froze and expanded, pushing the metal. If the watering can were enameled, the enamel would crack. This happened to me once with a water jug left in the garden.

Hi Maria. Thank you for coming back and your comment from your experience. I see. It could change the shape like that because of the water got frozen. Very interesting!

That cavity could be hot or cold water.ı have similar one from china. The must be some cork stopper.
Ευχαριστώ για το σχόλιο σου. Χαίρομαι που το απόλαυσες☺

Hello, Michiyo! LOVE the pieces of the past you find and choose to show us. My favorites are the 11:46 doll and the wooden carved figurine of a crouching man. I have a similar foldable corkscrew, I always use it. I also have these small glasses with green stems, I bought them in the early 1990s, they are not very useful. Everything you drink from them can be better drunk from another glass.

Hi Maria. Thanks for watching and leaving lovely comment😊 I'm glad to hear that you like the same things I picked up. I really liked the doll too. Did you see the tiny baby on her chest? So sweet, isn't it? The glasses you have are pretty. I'd love to drink all sorts with them. I'll never get drunk though because of its size 🍸🍹🍷🍺🍾🍶😁
I love what you found, especially the lovely metal sugar cutter. I also love the oil paintings shown in the middle of your video! I collect antique oil paintings and am always look for unique ones! What percentage of discount can you offer to the sellers at a flea market like this? Thanks so much for sharing!
@retrocatkin-27544 ай бұрын
Thanks for your lovely comment and glad to hear that you like the sugar cutter and the little painting with a lady with her bonnet which was one of my most favourite finds that day. I guess I would ask for discount about 20%. For example, if one item is £10, I might ask it for £8. Anyway, I think you will have more chance to be accepted your offer if you purchase multiple items. Hope you will find good paintings in bargain prices 🤞

@@retrocatkin-2754 Thank you so much for the information! I hope my husband and I can take a trip to the UK this year or next year. I love antiques there. They’re different from what we have in the States and are much older.
A great selection. Worth travelling from so far to appreciate the variety.

OMG! Those ceramic pots! They’re very popular in the US, especially the ones with writing on! I wish I were there!
