Chess takes skill cuz it has diversity, checkers takes nothing, its like rock paper scissors but with more choice

Why do people leave these comments? Almost all checkers players also play chess, but for some reason, chess players rarely play checkers. Yes, checkers takes skill. You would lose against either one of these people 10 games out of 10, because they are better players, because they have honed skill in the game. To some degree, the skill in checkers is identical to chess, the same tactics apply: control the center, weaken your opponent's structure, force your opponent into disadvantageous moves, etc. On the other hand, there is a different set of strategies for when you have fewer unique pieces. In chess, it's about coordinating individual pieces together to make an attack. In checkers, it's about coordinating the entire board to make an attack.

I thought a tutorial video about the rudiments and rules of this game, I was told you cant capture backwards, but apperantly you can... Can anyone explain to me, please?
@sameash3153
@sameash3153 3 күн бұрын
This is draughts, where you are not only allowed to capture backwards, but you must capture whenever there is a piece that can be taken. In this game, there are moments where the winner uses this to his advantage, he forces a backwards capture that then pushes a threatening piece away from him, opening up the structure for a double capture, and then leaving white defenseless against black's kinging opportunity.

Old man made a huge mistake at 9:00 I'm surprised it didn't get capitalized on as you would have been able to completely swing the game from that moment on. Sacrificing that piece 2 moves earlier for 2 potential double jumps would have been a heavy momentum shift instead of using it as a 1 for 1

Le blanc a mal négocier ses pions avant l'entrée en dame . Il pouvait jouer de telle sorte de bouffer deux pions avant que le noir ne rentre en dame et la position sera un peu plus simple à gagner

When you have Carrom pieces but a Chess Board
@Layrlaqqww
@Layrlaqqww 6 ай бұрын
Well, I'll try to explain. I don't know which country you live in, but in the world, different from the country you live in, there are different game rules. Countries have adopted this case of eating back to make the game more complex and more strategic. Chess can seem more complex due to each piece having its own part and playing side. But don't be fooled. In a high-level checkers game, any mistakes are crucial. See more games like this. Every play is incredible, there are players who get 3 or more and make incredible plays.
@sameash3153
@sameash3153 3 күн бұрын
Also, like chess, what is most interesting about any given checkers/draughts game is the game you didn't see instead of the game you did see. There are lots of moments here where either one of the players could have swept the entire board, but they saw those movements in their heads and they blocked them on the board.
