In 3 amd VC you have to reload the save for the cops to be gone. And in 5 you can only get rid of them with saving if you have below 3 stars.

You definitely can save game while wanted in gta v and it removes the wanted level

No you can't and even if you saved it through the phone it won't remove the wanted levels

@@oFoTcN003I’ve done it several times with all three characters. How are you saying you can’t, when I already have. If the mini map is flashing red and blue, maybe not. But if the cops are actively searching for you, unaware of your whereabouts, then you can sleep and the wanted level is removed.
