So, I might get some flack for saying this. Correct me if I'm wrong here, but, since the dots are 0.2 mils, that would mean that if the bottom of the target is on the bottom of the dot, that would be 3.1 mils in the example. However, it's slightly longer than the bottom of the dot. I would say it's actually. 3.2 mils. Meaning, dead center of the dot is 3.0, top of the dot would be 2.9 and bottom would be 3.1. If I'm wrong here, please let me know. Not trying to be arrogant or anything like that. It's just how I was taught to range when I was an SDM in the Army. If I'm right, it's actually 295. I noticed you did the same for the first example as well, so I ranged it for both 3.1 and 3.2. Great video by the way!

On the shun knife - after grinding away the sawtooth edge, why did you but the fresh edge on with the back side of the belt, without the benefit of an angle guide, instead of the method Worksharp recommends. Your method is interesting and effective- so I’m just curious.

Would there be any benefit to a “bullet velocity” data curve for the first few feet from the muzzle to input into the solver? Or is this what the CDM accomplishes?
@innerbarkoutdoors
@innerbarkoutdoors 12 күн бұрын
I'm not sure I know exactly what you're talking about about. I grab data using a chronograph at the muzzle which gives you your muzzle velocity. The program calculates how much velocity you lose every yard/meter thereafter. You need to input your optic height over bore axis and zero distance to fine tune the correction outputs. After that you calibrate by taking a long shot somewhere around the neighborhood of 5-700 yards to adjust your elevation outputs which will fine tune your velocity data. If you miss left or right, I chalk it up to windage which isn't what we are dialing in now. I don't typically change my drag curve models as I find applied ballistics does a good job at making their own profiles for projectiles.

My ORYX Chassis is in the mail. Can you tell me what you use for a cleaning rod. I have read you have to remove the action to clean the barrel. There's got to be a better way besides a bore snake.
@innerbarkoutdoors
@innerbarkoutdoors 12 күн бұрын
I use a carbon fiber rod. You do not need to remove the action, just remove the bolt and lower the comb if needed. I wouldn't use a bore snake in a precision gun, but do for my carbines on occasion, or pistols.

I am trying to create two knots on my assault rifle to put a gun sling on it. Which type of knot would be the most appropriate and less faulty-prone?
@innerbarkoutdoors
@innerbarkoutdoors 17 күн бұрын
I take it you have a swivel or some sort of anchor point on your rifle. Id do a figure 8. Climbers use it to secure themselves so it's good enough for your rifle. If you're using webbing use the water knot seen in my rock climbing knots.

You just throw a known good powder volume, adjust the o-ring to that position and then it's set for the new caliber/cartridge.

Hi Andy I'm in a fairly advanced boating course with the Canadian Power Boat Squadron. As a reference to what a Knot is called they defer to the Ashley Book of Knots. As I mentioned in the previous comment that your Taunt Line Knot is what is known as a Rolling Hitch. I suspect that many boating courses use the Ashley Book as a reference for knot names since it was first published in 1944. In any case thank you for your videos. They are the best. Cheers from Canada
