Remigio screwed himself out of this with his personal 'politics' and changing the Canadian National anthem and waving a sign - he was PART of the group - he had no business going off on his own. Yes, he has a great voice - and I wish him success - but he did not "carry' the Tenors. They all have good voices, each with his own part.

I would have to just say that Remi shot himself in the foot. Putting his personal politics into the mix was bad enough, but you don't change the national anthem of whatever country your singing of. No. Just no. If you are American, how would you feel about one of them changing the words to The Star Spangled Banner? Not talking about adding, say, a Spanish version of the first stanza which might be cool, but outright changing it? Every American I know would lose their s*** over that. Just look what happened when someone took a respectful knee during it. Yeah, he's a great singer and talented songwriter, but if I were part of that group, I'd have voted him out right along with them. As for them paying him what they owe him, maybe they incurred fines for that butchered anthem and took it out of his share since he's the one that did that.

@@bridgetsclama Fines?? From whom? There were no "fines". Look, Bridget, your anthem has been changed so many times, no one can attribute it to anyone in particular. A few months after the incident, the lyrics were officially changed yet once again..for socio-political reasons. At least 2 other artists since have changed the lyrics, one very disrespectfully, while singing it at an event; don't hear any big outcry about these singers. Remember John Lennon saying the the Beatles were "more popular than Jesus"? What did the other Beatles do? They stood by him, said that he didn't mean that they were "better" than Jesus, just that the fans paid more attention to THEM. The other 3 Tenors called Remi "our brother" for 10 years. Is that the way you treat your brother? It's especially shady that they decided to rift him out just after he paid off his portion of the $3millions dollar debt they held for the Tenor contract buy-out. A 3-way payday is certainly more profitable for them, isn't it. If they had just stuck up for him and said that he was certainly not a racist, and that his motives were honorable and advocating peace and brotherhood and then just carried on, it all would have blown over. You need to learn that in life, people who advocate for peace, love, brotherhood, and equality for everyone will always be more important and meaningful than a symbolic song.

They should've given him a chance.
