This is the old 1991 version. There's a new version made a year later which has redone graphics and voice acting.

Please tell me how to add a custom ffmpeg filter, I tried all the options, but it doesn’t work. I tried -vf cas=0.5 and just other filters without -vf The preview shows no changes.

This game absolutely freaked me out when I used to play it, now I realize it's because of the complete silence with creepy wind sounds 😂 such a good game though, was thinking about it today and had to watch

Why did you not change the text speed in the settings? The upscaling is nice, but having to wait after every bit of dialogue is so cumbersome.

I absolutely fail to understand how people would prefer this blotchy mess over the original rendition. There's a few longplays already around with this kind of filter and they are absolutely ghastly.

@@Retrohertz By injecting the code into dosbox renderer. It is possible, but the algorithm I use is too slow to be able to be played in realtime in a game.

Not in the free STEAM version. I did exactly as you just demonstrated and it went to a "Processing" window which was running over 15 minutes with no result so I just shut it down.

One problem with really doing it faithfully is that the original game uses the likenesses of many famous A-list actors as the characters, almost certainly without permission (for example, Mr Griffith, on the right at 00:40, looks like Charles Laughton in the original). These days, reproducing that could pose a *big* legal problem.

I bought this game and the first one Riddle of the Sphinx a few years back. Completed the first one and was so over the moon when this one came out but only managed to get to Stone henge then the game crashed and couldn't get it to work. Was so peeved.

Ok, first off, THANK YOU for this. As a kid, we had this game with our computer we got in ‘97. I was 9 when we had it, and I always loved the music and just general exploration, even if I had no idea what to do or what was going on. It definitely brought back memories seeing this, especially the music. Not only that, this is a treat, because it’s the first time I’m seeing any of it progress. Not only that, it had MULTIPLE ENDINGS!? This was way more than I imagined. Again, deep thank you for this. 🙏
