Thinking about my 85 year old mother seeing "FDIC insured to $200,000." She thinks her money is safe -- has no idea what FDIC means. I'm 30 minutes into this podcast, and still have no idea how the providers were able to market 'FDIC insured' when the reality is they weren't. Best I can get from the panelist is "buyer beware". They should have known their money could disappear.

The guidelines and policies HAVE to be clearer. And regulators need to monitor the claims. A lot to be learned from this tragedy.

I'm waiting to see the atrocities it's going to start committing in cybersecurity with the new risk surfaces from the blockchain. Been sounding the horn that digital identity is a major risk to enterprise size companies and anyone transacting online

It will be interesting to see how cybersecurity steps up in this environment.

ai is stoopid. It can, at best draw lines in the sand through ever more insane power requirements. The insane idea that the multiple stoopid ai iterations are collaborative in nature is mind boggling. Just maintaining a balance of "money" in you local bank is fraught with problems. Why isnt the stoopid ai addressing this issue? Hmmmm? Income tax burden for each and every iteration is the only answer.

It's an interesting point. We'll have to see how it's addressed.

🎉 what deposits? You never talked about what we're talking about here is it financial is it mineral? You're not clear. You're talking about fluctuations and financial deposits well look at the economy which it seems to be falling apart and people are spending their only savings to just get by and then putting the rest on credit cards hoping that the future will get better but without the hope of an actual future it's getting dark. Or if you're talking about mineral deposits of course unless you actually go see the deposit or minate you don't actually know what's there. Talking about oil deposits you can predict with reasonable accuracy of how much is actually there whether you can recover it or not. So I hate this video because it's not clear

The deposits are financial, but we'll try to be clearer in the future. Thanks for your input!

There is not sufficient regulation for two simple reasons: There was no regulator that knew that it was their responsibility to review these companies, and the failure of synapse could let customers not be covered. It's not simply about disclosure, consumers need to be covered.

This guy is a really stupid guy, impulsive, without any vision, good that his investors vetoed his stupidity. Once you acquire a charter you are regulated and you cannot innovate like a fintech. Regulators want stability, due diligence, so there was not value to all that hassle

Pretty sure the concept of getting 2% of every dollar you spend back is not a generational thing, but the only logical way to pay if you have the choice. Or perhaps the host is right, and the youngest consumers simply enjoy paying more.

Increase the interest by 2% and then give 2% back...

@@provokefm I like the cash back, but it is pretty crazy in the grand perspective. But also surprising to see Stripe charging full credit card rates of 2.9% + 30¢ for their nearly free ACH based Link offering. Lots of contradictions in the world.

Immortality has always been a goal of the elite. They will use up this planet as a resource and kill everyone on it so they can explore the universe. Before then ... putting chips in our bodies makes us total slaves. A rancher has more care for his live stock than they do for we the people.
