Bring back hand, checking get rid of the defensive three second rule and the restricted area. Impose serious fines on players who wanna take the night off when they are not seriously injured. If you don’t play, you don’t get your money back in the 90s and early 2000s 75% of the league was playing all 82 games nowadays it’s about 5% of the league is playing all 82 games.

I didn't mean to be insulting. I was just surprised that people were unfamiliar with these. They were very popular when they came out. The one guy looks like maybe he's too young but the other one looks like he was definitely around. Traveling Wilburys made 2 albums, one in 1988 and one in 1990. When the Man Comes Around came out in 2002 not too long before Johnny Cash died. The Johnny Cash album especially was everywhere when it came out. You have good taste. Johnny Cash was in a supergroup too with Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson and Willie Nelson called the Highwaymen you should check out.

Spider-Man is Marvel's embodiment of "hope". as you say, he's far worse off than Batman comparatively, but the major theme is that what makes him a hero is not his powers. What makes him heroic is his tenacious hope. He is always hoping to save or redeem the villains in his world. And he's doing it because he genuinely believes it's possible. Batman is DC's embodiment of vengeance though. He routinely states that he isn't a hero despite other people saying he is. He KNOWS his reasons are dark and violent. It's why he has a "rule" not to kill anyone. He has to set that boundary himself repeatedly. He is misunderstood as a hero but even he through his own actions kind of shows he doesn't think he's a hero. He is "vengeance" and the "night". He sees himself as the embodiment of the dark hunger for vengeance that comes with pain and loss. And He sees Batman as the embodiment of that darkness taking on a form to punish those who created it. There is enough goodness in him to remind him to aim it at the ones that deserve it and not become like them through killing but beyond that it's open season in his mind.

The difference is spidey had good parental figures growing up, and even after uncle ben died, he still had aunt may. and not to mention that 'great power, great responsibility' line, which defined his actions. Bruce did have alfred, but i always looked at alfred as more of a 'hands off' parental figure, and not someone who showed any sort of affection. So while peter had a lot of human connections, went to school, all that jazz, bruce really didn't. But then again, batman isn't that DARK either. Both him and spidey have a no killing code, and sure, Bruce is a lot more serious, but different people have different ways of coping with things. There's a reason people talk about how scary spiderman is when he's silent instead of cracking jokes. And there's a reason why a laughing batman is literally horrifying. They both imply something is very wrong. In conclusion, spidey, one way or another, gets a different and better way of dealing with the shit that came at him than batman did, leading to why he's not as dark.
@EricRueseler
@EricRueseler 26 күн бұрын
Some very good points. I’d say that overall Spider-Man (not counting his many variants) is not nearly as dark as Batman. Being dark and brooding is one of Batman’s defining characteristics.
