Beautiful! I just received a yellow palora dragonfruit and built a trellis for it. It is a seedling unfortunately so it will take a few years for certain.

Miracle Gro (and some other brands of) fertilizer doesn’t contain calcium and magnesium. If that’s the only fertilizer you use, it could be why. It’s assumed that your tap water has enough calcium so calcium is not added. You may want to consult your municipality water supply for the water hardness. Anyway. I’m just guessing based on the info that I’m able to see from your video.

Sunscald occurs on tomato fruit that have been exposed to too much sun. This is common in plants that have lost leaves from a leaf spot disease or insect feeding, but can also occur on plants that are over pruned or on fruit that are otherwise exposed to the sun.
@sroberts694014 күн бұрын
Blossom-end rot is caused by a calcium deficiency in the tomato plant. Although blossom end rot means that the plant does not have enough calcium within the developing fruit, it does not mean that there is a lack of calcium in the soil. Often blossom end rot occurs as a result of several cultural or environmental factors that affect the plant's ability to take up calcium, such as: Fluctuations in soil moisture. Heavy applications of nitrogen fertilizer. Injury to roots. Hot weather and environmental conditions that cause plants to grow too rapidly. The amount of calcium available to the plant decreases rapidly when there is too much potassium, magnesium, ammonium and sodium in the soil. These are all salts, and so they use similar pathways to enter plants. Extreme fluctuation in moisture can also reduce the availability of calcium salts needed by the plant. Heavy applications of nitrogen fertilizers and abundant rain cause rapid plant growth and can cause blossom-end rot, especially during periods of dry, hot weather.

We’ve never been able to grow tomatoes in grow bags, they all get the blossom end rot. I was told it’s all of the reasons you explained. All I know is the successful tomato plants we have - we constantly snip each plant so has very good air flow & grow in very well maintained raised beds…. As well as the token plants that come up by seed in middle of yard with absolutely no care at all lol 😅 😂 why does it always seem that way

I got my cuttings from Etsy. The seller is TheNodes. The seller was great and sent me ample, healthy cuttings. I just checked, and the item and seller are no longer listed. Be careful when buying. Some sellers sell small, weak cuttings that either die soon after arrival or take forever to grow. I will link the video of receiving these cuttings in the description. Best wishes!

Did your bananas ripen?
@GrowWhereYouArePlanted27 күн бұрын
No. The plant did not have enough light to produce the energy it needed to sustain the bananas, so it eventually died. I have had 3 bananas to flower in fall/winter with the same results. That's why I gave up. I wish there was a way to get them to flower in May so there would be enough sunlight and warm temperatures for the fruit to ripen outdoors.
@steffiejoe27 күн бұрын
@@GrowWhereYouArePlanted dang! Don’t give up. I just thinned out my bananas that I put in the ground last year. I have several varieties. My oldest has been in a 60 gallon pot 4 years this season. I binged watched several videos and one video from a university. I learned that I need to try and keep no more than 4-5 leaves on each plant. The university stated if I’m feeding and watering heavily the mother should put out a flag leaf after 28-31 leaves have come out. I’m in zone 9A south east Texas. My bananas get plenty of heat, humidity and sun.

Why don't you let them turn red??
@ht825928 күн бұрын
No sure why she picked them early, but my family loves fried green tomatoes so we get a lot of ours at this stage
@GrowWhereYouArePlanted28 күн бұрын
Birds, insect larva, and other creatures attack my juicy, red, ripe, sweet tomatoes, especially since my area is in a drought and creatures are looking for water. To minimize loss, I picked the tomatoes as soon as they start blushing red. I assure you that those tomatoes were sweet and meaty.

I would plant them either way you are going to be watering in theses temps. Spread the roots out when you plant and don't plant too deep like 99 percent of trees are planted today. Perhaps you could temporarily shade until they establish. Very nice find by the way.

WOW, what a great surprise, I must check out that nursery. I can give you no advice on planting because I am new to this. I have 3 coming tomorrow and I have a feeling they will be small because they only advertised the pot size, not the plant size. I'm hoping for some of your luck!

Wondering if a rain barrel or tank at the down spout and then a rain garden close to the street to take the overflow would be something to consider for sustainability and storm water management.

Wow! You've inspired me!! I'm about to take on my first ever coop build project next week and I am sooo nervous about it! 🥴 Did you just use a regular door mat for the flooring of the coop? I was thinking about cutting a doormat and using the pieces in my nesting boxes for the coop.
@GrowWhereYouArePlanted2 ай бұрын
It is a mat on a roll that can be cut to length, kind of like they cut fabric at a sewing store. I purchased mine from Lowes Hardware.
@lyonheart843 ай бұрын
Thats great attention to detail, should respond nicely. Also during winter temperatures citrus roots are dormant so they don't absorb nutrients properly so the warmer temperatures you have now will also help 😁
