I know this Russian girl who has such a soothing voice and presence, everytime she talks I feel on a little cloud. So I thought I'd check Ytb for a soft voice with a Russian accent (whispering doesn't do it for me, only soft spoken asmr). And here it is, the perfect video!!! Looove it, feeling so relaxed now haha. Thank you! ❤

In Serbian orthodox tradition important days, after someone passing, is 3,7 and 40,then 6 months and a year. We prepare cooked wheat, a small round simple Brad, candles and drink. Light is on for the soul to find it's right way Mirrors and tv screens are covered Black is a colour to wear for a year, except pregnant women Out of superstition, black is off a few days before a year At that time a monument should be done. They are made of a black or grey marble, or if late person died young often are white or pinkish Food is not eaten on every visit, only on a special days, holidays etc. Some people leave food, like fruits Easter eggs... for persons who work there and take care of the cemetery . Some people leave on purpose a small part of dirt close to a grave or don't cover a grave fully with a stone to plant flowers, like a sign of their contribution and love for the loved one who passed. Those are kind of a general tradition rules but, depends of an area where ppl live, the rules can vary I am very interested in a different traditions, costumes, cultures... Privet!

I’d like to try the fish version of the solyanka and the okroshka (without the ham and maybe only a little egg) and if there isn’t dill in it already I’d add that and horseradish. Those look very good. The meat jelly is scary to me too. But America had very weird meat/ savory jellies around the 60’s so we cannot judge. I’d love if you made more videos about Russian food. Is there any produce (fruits or vegetables) that’s specific to your region? What dishes are common for each holiday? Just some ideas. 🤍

I agree with you on most of those names, but I found it funny that you couldn’t imagine some of them belonging to young girls :). A girl who I went to school with (and I’m almost 30) was named Tamara, my 35-year-old cousin is named Valya, my 40-year-old friend is named Zoya, I know a girl who’s probably about 20 now named Zina, and there were two girls I went to school with named Natalia. For clarification, all the girls I mentioned are Russian speakers; I didn’t even include the African-American girls with the names you mentioned 😂

in iceland we have something like the Holodets jelly, called Svidasulta.. but made with sheep's head, intestines, or testicles. Absolutely awful and horrible in every way... i hate going to the market and seeing this dish in the cold section.

My daughter in law is Russian and we always joke about the "collagen jello". I think if it is seasoned properly, it would be okay. With collagen all the rage for improving the skin, at least it would be healthy.
@AmazingSoundsMindRelaxation15 күн бұрын
@@bellathereader1328 Yes, this dish is really healthy, and the problem is mostly with serving (which is usually quite nasty) and a lot of garlic, which smells too heavily. Maybe I was unlucky and should try it somwhere in restaurant, where it will be served well

I like holodec. We call sulc or pihtije. It's a natural collagen gelatin. Usually is prepared in winter, it takes at least 4 hours to cook. Some people don't like it. It's like coriander, you love it or hate it.

Forgot to tell in the video, I guess that teachers in the Universities use this system, because then they don't need to prepare the exam. If it was test they have to change it every time, to avoid answers leaking to other groups and cheating. And here they don't need to prepare it at all :)

Most people don't know how massive Russia really is and all the groups within. And I think most stereotypes came from the history of the US and Russia during the cold era and the blonde thing, because the US is obsessed with it for some reason. Women dyed their hair, moved to Hollywood and made that stereotype even stronger but it seems it was always fake.
