C'mon guys, I will subscribe once you buy a microphone. I am happy that Coach Kelly finally got a little shine. What a year, as a former girls cross country coach I am a huge fan of Dennis and what he has accomplished. I watched every race I could this year from Woodbridge to NXN and I knew they would win state. That team was peaking perfectly at each race leading up to state each girl was having fabulous races. Sophie picked it up at CIF final and Anna and the freshman Williams stomped it at state. Game changer this year, Millie Bayless. I was at Woodbridge and right away, I knew Holly Barker wasn't right and then to see her landing a CIF crown, a state championship and All American honors. Wow, coach, what an incredible job and with 3 of the top 5 returning, looking forward to 2025.

What a debacle at NXN😡. Today all these California State Champion girls got their lunch handed to them at Portland by the girls from Colorado, Utah and the Midwest. Rylee Blade, Holly Barker, Abigail Errington, Hanne Thomsen....None of them could even make top 10. Sadie was even beaten by Ella Hagen from Summit HS in Breckinridge Co who spends a lot of time training for her school's cross-country ski team? I blame the CIF for scheduling this state meet too close to NXN where as all these other girls had at least 2 weeks to recover from their regionals. I don't know why Ventura HS coach Josh Spiker had Sadie running that Michigan work-out on the track recently. IMO it was worthless in preparing her for Portland's conditions. I haven't yet seen any post race interviews of Sadie explaining what happened today. Team wise, only Clovis seem to show up. What happened to "hyped" Trabuco Hills? Mountain Vista aka "Denver" and Utah's Lone Peak schooled them. The only way California will stop failing at NXN is for the SS CIF meets to run lots of water trucks to create mud on the fire roads and utilize wet, slippery grassy courses on hilly golf courses in other words real European style cross-country races!

There are these wonderful little things called microphones. You should look into them. Start with maybe "lavalier..." then maybe the ambient sound of the announcer won't be louder than the person you are filming. While you're at it look into "rule of thirds." Only amateurs put the person's head in the middle of the frame. These are filmmaking 101/first day of class stuff!

Thank you for posting this video! I know that you are busy with all of the work you have to do, but I personally love these forms of videos. Even though the rankings are amazing, I find videos like this much more entertaining and informative than a list of the top 10 schools. I know that this is asking a lot, but please post more videos like this, or at least add some explanations to your rankings. I’m just trying to give some ideas that I think would be great, and thank you so much for considering this.

Rich, We've got to get you a couple of microphones especially standing next to a freeway. At least you had lighting randomly pulling off the road. Unscripted, you guys did a great job--because you know your stuff. Hidden behind a pay wall, it's a real shame CIF censors the meet from the general public. A lot of people will never see this great meet.and they have, again, lost a great publicity opportunity. I believe you are doing selections for NXN. Chiara Dailey ran the fastest time of the day at the State meet. She is conspicuous because she did not get an NXN selection. I'm guessing she declined because she is saving her options to try to win Foot Locker in her own back yard. Trey Caldwell, just missed NXN, ran FL last year as well, was near the front until the hill at 1 mile. I can see why you went with JSerra for the At Large selection even though Santiago ran slightly faster. You got Rylee and Holly as individuals and the rest of the team isn't that spectacular. Glendora was a surprise to me.

@torunit4620.... There was no CIF / NFHS PayWall... No live broadcast optional at all. We would have ponied up for a Watch Party if there was one available... Unlike last year where there was a live streaming viewable option.

"Hidden behind a paywall" - nope they didn't even bother recording anything so they have nothing to hide. XC and TF are just money losing ventures compared to football, soccer and basketball

An obscenity for the sport. The meet happened yesterday. I watched the results live. There has been zero video coverage of it. Maybe there is an embargo for someone expecting to make some money on this, maybe they did have some coverage that essentially a tiny minority got to see. This might mean a few dollars to somebody, but all it does is damage the enthusiasm for the sport. USATF does this crap all the time and look at their great success at publicizing the sport. USA has had the best team in the world for decades and yet they can't fill a stadium anywhere except Eugene. CIF is learning techniques from the wrong people.
