Wet hair and dry hair looks different

I did this recently and mixed cajun spice and paprika on a yellow roots and light pink ends. my hair was red and i did 2 rounds of L’Oréal color remover which gave me the light pink! And not my hair looks like a penny or the copper brillo pad! If I didn’t have a pink color at the ends it would be different. I want ginger (tangerine tone)
