I have a lg37le4500 and i have a similar problem but it's not flashing, it's more intermittent and it only occurs on the HD inputs. I found that when you press text or program up or any similar input on the Remote Conrol the message pops up and you can remove the message temporarily by pressing exit. I tried removing the buttons on the tv to no avail but I have found a workaround... If I hold the ok button on the tv buttons panel it blocks the "function not available" message. I haven't found a method yet to keep the button held in, will probably use a small vice/clamp or some strong tape but I've tried everything and this looks like the only solution for me Hope it helps others Edit:a guitar capo works fine
